Dear All,
Read on here somewhere that Kwik Fit do a well priced oil change - Mobil 1 and a filter for £35 - Bargain! Checked website and £35.
So, booked in, saw the car go up on the ramps and the old oil out. Remarked to the Manager that I thought that the price was very good and that I could not buy 6.5 litres of Mobil 1 for £35.
"£49.95" he said, pointing at his computer - eek!
I told him £35 on their website.
He insisted that he could only put in the oil that his computer recommended - and that was Mobil 1 5W/30 ESP - as in the plastic bottles on his desk.
Still, he let me have the job for the £35 I was expecting.
Have since checked and the Mobil1 5W/30 ESP meets the VW longlife spec, so should be ok to have in there for a while.
All's well that ends well but I don't think that i'll be able to go back again!
Duncan
