Yup I spoke to Docklands Audi on Thursday last week and they put the order in the system and said the DVDs would be with them in about 7 days...

Not much help i know but I've just spoken to Maidstone Audi and been told that the whole program has been put off till "the middle of the year" had a bit of a rant and the guy has gone off to "look into it further" so I wait with baited breath.

Typical Audi dealer misinformation ...

The low level of competence, product knowledge and awareness of what the importer (Audi UK) is doing of SOME (not all) Audi dealers never ceases to amaze me.

There is some good dealers out there as well!

On the whole I think my dealer is pretty good..I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now; although I did have to fax a copy of the letter I got from Audi UK explaining the A4 TMC programme - the service guy thought I was talking about the A6/A8 upgrade at first and proceeded to tell me that it finished at the end of Dec 06! In my fax to the dealer I also quoted the stuff outlining the cost recovery through warranty, no charge to customers etc etc. that dealers SHOULD have read on Audi Desktop in the first place. All this was quoted for the benefit of us Audi owners v.nicely by Allroadman on tyresmoke.net.

The net is a wonderful thing sometimes. :nodder:

Does this upgrade apply only to RNS-E owners, or is RNS-D also capable of TMC operations??

See http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... 626#156626

Thanks

Dave

This upgrade applies ONLY to RNS-E.

The RNS-D has been TMC capable since late 2003, by using a DX CD from Tele Atlas - see my reply on your link.

Went into Bexley Audi this morning and got my free updated disk. The service guy carried out the upgrade and took away my old 2006 DVD - all sorted within 15 mins FOC.

Now we get this

So who heard from Audi about the TMC upgrade this week?
I haven't and I am supposedly on Tom Peterkin's list.
I think I will give him another email.

I get mine on Wed.

Daz, does it auto re-route?

Glyn, it's probably best to call your local dealer.

Yes that is what I thought.
I will send an email to Tom also, just in case of any dealer shenanigans

Despite being on Tom's list I've heard nothing directly from Audi UK
I just called my dealer and got it sorted directly with them.
Some unscrupulous dealers are trying to charge for the upgrade - tell them to get lost.

Phil, yes it does do auto re-route.

Yes, it auto re-routed me twice last week - once to avoid queues caused by roadworks and once to avoid a road closure.

Has anyone heard from Audi UK this week? Despite being on Tom Peterkin's list, and having swapped emails with him several times, I haven't heard a thing. One cynic (not me!) has already posted elsewhere that he thinks it's a mythical list to keep us owners quiet...

Well according to Nelson on TSN.
Generally Audi are quite slow on the ball with the letters, last time the letters arrived to Customers about Six weeks after the discs were launched

Finally getting my RNS-E disc on my RS4 upgraded to have TMC, tomorrow morning at Listers Stratford!!

Weeeheeeee!!! Only 2.5 years, and much hassling, since I was promised it would be 'any time soon' on my old S4.

Still, at least it's happening!
