RE: Sale service.....

Post by yorkie » Wed Jan 03, 2007 9:42 pm

I have had a bad experience with Vindis Audi in Huntingdon which will leave me very reluctant to return.

If the car was advertised as "1 owner" and you can prove that it was but has actually had 2 and you can prove this too they are in breach of the Sale of Goods Act and I would be looking for a bit more than ally mirrors and a free service!

If you are sure you have a case then this is the man to contact..

Name: Paul Phelan
Position: Head of Business
Telephone: 01480 454545
Fax: 01480 453240
Email: paulp@huntingdon.vindisgroup.com

Trading Standards and the SMMT take a very dim view of this kind of thing as I'm sure do Audi UK and if you are correct I would be looking for a couple of thousand off the price or report them to Trading Standards which will probably cost them a whole lot more.

This post is without prejudice and based on the facts provided.

Obviously this will be an upset and hassle you don’t need however I do think Yorkie is spot on here!

I would suggest you consider a similar check - I could have been up s**t-creek in the event of an insurance claim if this hadn't been discovered, and its not the first time a dealer has sold a remapped car as standard.

Currently waiting for the dealer to come back with a better response than 'we'll get it put back to standard' - otherwise will be having a word with Audi UK Customer Services....
I would really suggest you get this sorted as I purchased mine moddified and a turbo failed... Audi UK washed their hands clean of the warranty and the dealership I bought it from no longer existed. I was left with a 3-4k bill at the least!!

If you need contacts within Audi give me a shout... I know em all - as useless as they are.
