S4 or RS4?

Post by ipsg.glf » Fri Jul 07, 2006 11:08 am

Hello

I'm thinking about either an S4 Avant or RS4 Avant. I currently drive a Skoda Octavia vRS with Jabba remap but would like more power.

I am not sure how I decide whether to go for a S4 and mod it or straight for an RS4. Budget wise, I've got my car plus about 10-12k.

I'd need a quality specialist in the Teesside/Cleveland/Durham area and would definitely not use an Audi main dealer. Any ideas?

Just really looking for some general guidance as to what the pro's and con's of the S4 and RS4 are, etc..

Many thanks in advance

Hi ya, there are numerous topics out there on both RS4 ans S4 forum, best to do a search.

For that kind of money you only really have 1 option IMO - B5 S4. You'll be able to buy a good one and mod it well. The RS4 is a very complete car but you'll blow your wod getting a good one and that'll leave nothing to make any changes etc.

well said Rob. other thing to consider is driving style, RS has more horsepower but S4 is more torquey. if your a revver then the RS is for you, S4 is probably better suited to town work where you're driving on the torque most of the time

Torque Torque Torque to us boys with an S4. Have bags of fun messing around with it. Be prepared to travel for a good one. It's well worth it.

yeah I have both an S4 and an RS4 and can say I'd take the RS4 anyday, i do miss the torque low down but the power at the top end makes up for it
