Dirty Beast, Clean Beast

Greetings. Been lurking here for a bit. Thought about buying a C5 RS6 back in 2007 but moved house and shattered that dream... finally bought a Mugello Blue Avant about 6 weeks ago and thought I should say hi. 65,000 miles, very clean, unmodified, still on DRC (which may be a ticking time bomb but hey - we'll find out).
My second V8 but my first Audi!
I've clocked up 3,000 miles and am finally getting used to its weight, handling characteristics, and sheer straight line overtaking ability.
Got it dirty today...

- Dirty
...and cleaned it again.

- Clean

Visit MRC.
Then you'll realize that your time bomb has just exploded.
Anyway, nice example!

Thanks all - no doubt I will be back asking questions about coilovers etc but in the meantime I'll enjoy driving her before my wallet gets that inevitable beating...

Love that colour!
After the main bits like service history, DRC, gearbox service etc, that blue colour exterior, silver leather and carbon trim were top of my list when I was searching for a 6.
Couldn't find one in that colour that ticked all of my other sensible boxes, but found my one that had everything I wanted apart from being blue !
Would love to spend a weekend detailing the Mug Blue... but then I'm just a bit odd like that!
Oh... and welcome!
Oh, Oh... suppose I should also send you the obilgatory
FON!

It's not Noggy, it's Mugello.

I have slightly lost the plot. Sold a car I quite liked back in '07. Then bought a smoker barge V70R followed by a 9-5 Aero. Each was washed once in my ownership - when I took the photos for sale. This morning a box turned up courtesy of Parcelforce. 5 litres of Autoglym non-acidic wheel cleaner. Wife spat her cup of tea all over me in shock... Sure I'll get over my new-found OCD in due course.
Need to get it serviced at some point and as I'm in the frozen north I'm planning on going to A for Audi in Glasgow - good idea?
Also, just renewed my insurance. 40 yr old male, full business use, not quite bald yet, live in middle of nowhere, £303 with Admiral. 17 yrs no claims but not too shabby, I thought. No points yadda yadda.

I bought my RS6 when I was 20, nobody would insure me until I hit 21. So it was being stored but in the meantime I had my dad insure it, 59, three points, good postcode, 20k value and it was under £300 iirc, £280ish rings a bell...
Mugello looks great when clean, I like my car dirty sometimes too, it is filthy currently. I'm aching to drive it. Week tomorrow since I have done so.

When I was 20 I was still trying to blag my mum's 1.3 Golf. When I finally bought a 1988 Mk2 Golf 16v GTi in 1994 I seem to remember it costing me £900 3rd party. I trashed it quite spectacularly in 1995, hence the 17 years' no claims! Your RS6+ must be reassuringly expensive to insure...

1 Fault claim (just touched the side of a Shogun in my BMW)
0 Years NCB
4 Years License
I'm the policy holder and pops is additional driver
£1,800ish that also includes my Punto on a multi-car policy. The plus is £1600 and the Punto about £220. If I'd have bought an RS 6 saloon, the insurance would have been £1,100-1,200.
Guy a year younger then me at work pays the same on some knackered R reg Fiesta Zetec thing, no joke, but that's the Coventry postcode, he put my postcode in as an experiment and it came down a lot.
My renewal is coming up in a few weeks, it will be interesting to see what it'll be...

Amar, are your eyes that bad that you can't post during the day? You're like a vampire
