i reckon there has got to be less than 40-45 here if the 62 figure is correct.

which makes them incredibly incredible rare.

epsecially in each colour.

i.e black, grey, blue, sprint, etc etc.

According to how many left (http://howmanyleft.co.uk) there are only 1,554 RS6 in total, including the C6 RS6 aswell. It says that there are 2 plus's but I suspect the majority are registered as just standard.

I've only had my car 2 weeks and I've seen 2 in the last 2 days. In the previous 6 months I saw 1.

Yes, you have to take that site with a huuuuuge pinch of salt. The DVLA registered cars with models as they saw fit. A lot of people have incorrect model information on their V5, especially when we're talking about such a nuance.

From Wikipedia:

"Between April and September 2004, there was a final limited run of an even higher-performance RS6, named the Audi RS6 Plus. This had an increased engine power output (identification code: BRV), and produced over 350 kilowatts (476 PS; 469 bhp) at 6,000-6,400 rpm, with the same 580 newton metres (428 lb·ft) of torque at 1,950-6,000 rpm. This engine was also developed and manufactured in the UK by Cosworth Technology (now known as MAHLE Powertrain). The additional performance was achieved with a new engine control unit (ECU), and two additional coolant radiators behind the side-mounted intercoolers (these were standard fitment on the standard RS6 in hotter climate countries). Official performance figures indicate the discipline of sprinting from standstill to 100 kilometres per hour (62.1 mph) in 4.4 seconds. The RS6 Plus carries on to reach 200 km/h (124.3 mph) in 20.36 seconds, and has an official top speed of 280 km/h (174.0 mph).

The RS6 Plus came with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) as standard, and also included a no-cost option of "Sports Suspension Plus", which lowered the standard sports suspension by a further 10 millimetres (0.39 in) over the standard RS6. A revised steering rack, with a reduced ratio of 14.3 for firmer steering feel was included, and resulted in a turning circle of 11.7 metres (38.4 ft). The brakes now included cross-drilled discs. The wheels were only available in the 9Jx19-inch '5-arm design' alloys, finished in "anthracite" (dark grey), with 255/35 ZR19 96Y XL tyres.

The car was available only as an Avant, and was sold only in European markets. Visual differences for the RS6 Plus included the "black optic pack", which consisted of black finish to the framing of the radiator grille, exterior window trims, tailgate lower trim, roof rails, and exhaust tailpipes. It quickly sold out once it was released (999 units total). The last three digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) are reproduced on a plaque inside the car, displayed on the centre console."

I think all the above is correct, apart from the 'quickly sold out' bit. Only about half of the 999 allocation was ever sold I think? Someone will know the exact numbers.

Hi All,

Long time, no post. :)
I havnt been active of the forums for a while, mainly as i run several other cars (which don't eat as much money as a RS6), but I'm still a long term owner of a sprint blue plus which i was running it daily for the last 5 years until recently as its now only used for special occasions.

Every few months i still log on for a lurk, but as there is a few new owners of plus's who are wondering about the details of their cars i thought i would post again.
A few years back I ran a register for plus models and collected a fair amount of information on them.

For anybody that's interested a few years ago somebody on RS6.com got some data off the Audi system with production numbers.

(These number are for both RHD and LHD sold in all available markets)
All plus's were built in 2004, although a few didn't get registered until 2005
Altough the chassis and plaques run in sequence, they didn't get made in that order due to being hand assembled, this was specially so if the customer changed the mind on spec during assembly.

Apr 04 - 58 of 999 built
May 04 - 158 of 999 built
Jun 04 - 260 of 999 built
Jul 04 - 361 of 999 built
Aug 04 - 459 of 999 built
Sep to Oct 04 final RS6 customer plus made - number 561 on 8th October 2004

However there were several others made for "special customer/Audi employees" that got to choose their own chassis numbers (and one off colour/spec schemes).
I know of numbers 666, 998 and 999 (the last two being built for Audi board members)

To confirm this as best as possible, I got another friend at ******* Audi last year to run through large batches of chassis numbers for me on their system until they got fed up (I was looking for somebody who ordered a RHD sprint blue plus with the very rare option of colour coded exclusive floor mats to get the part number - alas with no joy)

if anybody wants any other details, let me know I can see what I can dig out in my pile of useless information.

Cheers

Gary

Hi Gary,

Did we meet briefly a Le Mans a few weeks ago? A guy commented on my Daytona Plus and said that he had built a Plus register, so wondering if it was you?

If so, good to meet you fella. :bigwave:

Hi Mart,

No that would of been Batty - I think his real name was Steve (unless somebody else is also doing it)
He came on the forum about a year after I got mine and was collecting info so we team up and shared all the info we got together. Think he moved to a V10 M5 a few years ago.

I think the scan of my RS6 plus sales brochure is still online

http://forum.rs246.com/download/file.php?id=7249

Other useless facts:

The first deliveries of cars were ready before Audi had made the plaques - these where posted to customers several weeks afterwards for fitting, but some owners never got around to fitting them. I came across quite a few in Germany for sale missing the numbered plaque.

All cars in the UK, even ones not having one of the 3 exculsive plus colour combos (but opting for the normal RS6 paint codes) came with black optics, but in Germany it was possible to have normal chrome optics as a no cost option.

The plus pedal option was only on LHD cars due to low numbers of RHD cars manufactured.

Even though the plus had most options as standard there a few options that could be spec'd as no cost or extra charge

Choice of 3 spoke or 4 spoke wheel - no cost option
Double Glazing or Black security glass (no cost option - had to choose one or the other)
Natural leather could be spec as a no cost option instead of Black, Silver or Sprint Blue exclusive combos
Sunroof - chargeable option
Solar Sunroof - chargeable option
Electric steering adjustment - chargeable option
Rear side sun blinds - chargeable option
Rear side airbags - chargeable option
Isofix -chargeable option
Colour coded mirrors - chargeable option (the exact opposite for a non RS car)
Real Black suede steering wheel with suede auto gear lever or Cognac colour leather wheel and auto gear lever - chargeable option
Exclusive "plus" floor mats (black with bright blue piping, black with cognac piping or black with silver piping) - very rare as was twice the price of normal Exclusive matsu

if the standard plus combo interior was chosen for the sprint blue model (Black leather sides/silver-white Alcantera centres) the carbon inserts have a blue strand rather the red strand on normal carbo inserts (this was a very rare option only available previously on the Audi S6)

One customer in the Netherlands managed to have a plus made of all three plus colour combos - its sprint blue, with cognac leather and brushed alloy interior inserts, the only one I've found with this combination

Hartage, thank you for sharing that information, I found it very useful, especially the brochure which I've been trying to get hold of for about a year and will be printed at work tomorrow. I have the exclusive plus mats with the blue piping. Twice the price of normal exclusive mats, wow! What else you got, any info on my car # 126? How many of each colour in your register? Does the 62 figure of RHD models sound about right to you?

Edit: My car doesn't have double glazing, is the black security glass 'tinted'? Mine has neither and you suggest it should have one or the other...?

As far as I'm aware its real dark black glass (mine has this) and not a tint (as in a film added). your car used to belong to Mo (I looked at it before he bought it and I got mine) - i remember its was £40k at the time
Yours has double glazing, also know as heat refective glass.
It's not double glazing as like a S class or 7 series for sound reduction, but it has second layer of heat reflective material bonded to it. It looks like normal glass but has a strange silver/green tint to it in certain light.

I had the colour info, but can't find it at the moment but if I remember right - black & silver made up most of the UK colours. (Approx 20 or so of each)
The rarer colours were sprint blue, mugello blue, Daytona grey and red which made up the rest
There's two LHD cars I found which had bespoke paint and interior. I think the 999 or 998 was a dark petrol blue colour with a reddish dark tan interior - I've got a picture somewhere.

62 or 71 are the two numbers I've heard from different sources (I've havnt got my friend to check every chassis to confirm, but originally 100 RHD and 899 LHD were allocated by Audi - RHD = 80 to UK & NI and 20 to other RHD countries but the full amount was never allocated due to production being stopped before all were sold
The number that were got from the production line never showed whether they were RHD or LHD so I've had to manually check many numbers
