"Torque" Question

Post by Streem » Tue Apr 24, 2012 10:04 pm

Hi,

I am new to the forum but not Tuning cars.

I have just bought a C6 RS6 Plus Saloon and fully intend to turn up the wick. I notice that the MTM maps limit the Torque to 785NM and that the MRC maps (and other's) allow the Torque to go up to around 925NM.

So my question is can the gearbox take 925NM for a sustained period of time or is the limited MTM map sensible because they know some thing we don't?

Any experiences / stories and advise welcome.

Thanks

:blackrs4:

What Panda shockingly neglects to add is that she has had no end of grief with her gearbox/Torque Converter. I don't remember the last time I saw that MRC allowed a C5 RS6 to leave them mapped up to that much torque. Mine is right on the limit at my current torque levels but that will be sorted......

He's got a C6 (or at least he would have if rule 1 was met).
He's also managed to replicate this post in the general chat, the C5 and the C6 sections. Not sure what that says about him, so, I'll leave it to the sharks, let's see if they smell blood in the water.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Just come back from a looooong cabling installation at a little local client's new office who was too cheap to pay professionals to do the job so I got stitched up with it. Seeing double and shattered so missed that bit about the C6........ Muppet for posting it up in multiple sections..........

It shows. You need to get out more Keaney, or, is it 'break out'? How are they treating you in the 'institute'?
