Hi guys just a need a little help here. Had the 6 serviced today and was told that the fuel filter and plugs could do with changing. That's fine but they want to charge me around £350 quid for the process on top of the service (stealer, we have no indy's). I appreciate the plugs are like a tenner each not sure how much the filter is but still seems quite high so have found a guide for the plugs ( yes going to use ngkpfr7q) and looks a pretty simples job but can't find any hints or tips for changing the fuel filter. Have searched and found out the location but not much else. Just things like will i need to clamp the lines restarting the car methods and general hint or tips. A tools list would be priceless so there are no nasty surprises. All help will be greatly appreciated. :beerchug: Peepsy.

According to an RS 6 maintence schedule I found on RS6.com, it needs changing at 55k miles, this is the part number you need, 6N0 201 511 A. It shouldn't be that much to change it, I changed the one in my A8 in 15 minutes myself, it is one of the easiest jobs you can do, I'd imagine (hope) the RS6 was similair.

The Audi price for the plus will be more like £18 each and they'll probably charge about an hours labour to do it. That's close to £250 right there. The fuel filter is pretty straightforward. I'll try and dig the procedure out.

HMMMM looks like typical stealer trick i have 44k on the clock and only did 7k last year and that was with a trip down to Monaco in there so he can't be expecting me to do 11k in a year. Is there a time limit on the filter do you reckon? Thanks for the part number i had found that on VAGCAT but thanks for confirming that i'm looking at the right thing. always helps. Thanks Shop that would be a great help. I'm refuse to pay them any more than i need to. Cheers.

its very ease to change, pinch the gas lines on both sides, the filter sits outside the fuel tank, towards the front. pinch the lines, pull each line out, and replace.....easy....with lift very easy
