Lemforder or Meyle control arms?

Guys,
Am looking at refreshing the Plus, and one of the things I'm gonna do is replace all the front control arms and linkages. After some research it seems that Lemforder in Germany make the OEM arms for Audi which would be an obvious choice. I have also found a kit from Meyle, also made in Germany which offer better than OEM arms with uprated 'Heavy duty' bearings which are said to be improved over the OEM design. Both kits are around the same price, just wondering which kit I should go for.
Any thoughts or experience to shed any light on this?
Cheers!
Mart.

I think the Meyle ones offer a five year warranty and are supposed to be better then OEM so I would go Meyle.
How long did the Audi ones last? if your just changing them to freshen it up as you put it, I think the money will be better spent on Hotchkins arbs as that will improve the feel a lot more then doing the arms I reckon.

I have never heard anything bad about lemforder suspension parts.

I have Hotchkiss ARBs already mate. None of the arms have failed, but being a 7 year old car, they will surely be past their best now.
So thoughts so far is that either will do the job well?
Cheers,
Mart.

You want hear anything bad about lemforder as they're the OEM part and not only to audi, but to a host of other manufacturers.

Hi,
Where did you find the kits (Lemforder and Meyle) for the RS6 ? I found kits for the A6 but never a complete set for RS6.
Thanks
Alain

The RS6 shares the same generic front control arms with normal C5 A6s, B5 A4s and VW Passats, apart from the lower straight L&R control arms which are different, as the RS6 & RS4 use aluminium uprights and hence run a washer on either side of the bush. See here:
http://www.meyle.com/EN/Spare-parts/Sea ... rchFilter=
Only Meyle and 034 Motorsport seem to make an RS6/RS4 lower straight control arm, but you can buy the remaining generic VAG control arms, drop links etc from Lemforder, Meyle, Febi Bilstein, 034 Motorsport and Mapco, as well as cheapo chinese copies on ebay.
As far as I know only Meyle and Lemforder are OE or above quality and are made in Germany.
Hope that helps,
Mart.

When I refreshed the RS4 suspension, I used genuine parts but changed the bushes for Powerflex ones. A little squeaky, but the handling was transformed. I'm running Hotchkis ARBs on the RS6 and they are pretty good.

Was it transformed because your bushes were worn? Or because the powerflex ones are better?

A bit of both, but more of the latter.

I wouldn't want to spoil the ride with polybushes to be honest. Ride is already firm with coilovers, and at the end of the day it'd never going to be a sportscar in the traditional sense with nearly 2 tons of weight.

Does poweflex make these bushes for the C5 RS6?

Had a service at Unit 20 last week and got some advisories. The following need replacing.
'Both banana arms'
'N/S front lower straight arms'
I'm now hearing a click type noise on full lock. Did you go for the Meyle kit in the end, Ceveman? I will do the lot rather then just a few here and there, if these need doing, the others probably aren't too far behind. Does the Meyle kit come with 'banana arms and the N/S front lower straight arms' ?
What's the labour likely to be and will I need alignment after?

Yes I went for the Meyle HD kit. Bought off German ebay at almost half the UK price.
Replaced all my front arms, and still getting the clicking at full lock, no idea what it is??
Anyone have any ideas?
Mart.

Can you get me a link, or how do you spell 'control arms' in German? I cannot find anything! I only started getting the clicking noise yesterday...
