Interesting upgrade

Just browsing ebay as you do and found this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-HD-Car-DVD- ... 1c1e75b633

For those wanting to upgrade from the RNS-D and can't find an RNS-E, this could be an option. Although I do feel they've left it a little late coming to the market.....

Saw this myself when I was hunting round, there is alsoanother version from a Asian seller but looks very similar. Read up on here a bit and considered the kenwood system but ended up holding out for an oem rns-e unit - was tempted to get an a3 or a4 unit as much cheaper but you need an adapter plate and thought it may end uplooking nasty!
Think I got mine for about £500 then had to get the kufatec adapter. Not cheap but keeps the car to spec and it much much better than rns-d! Took me a while to build up the courage to fit it but ended up a pretty easy job (once I had the right wires from can bus adapter)

This is next on my list a new head unit.... what are other people's experience? links to possible choices and costs? must say for the price this unit does look good but appearnace is not always the best way to judge, any recommendations welcome

I'm also very interested in this - I can't really justify the price of a Kenwood when a lot of the time I drive with the stereo switched off! Keep us all posted how you get on Stax!

Guys
I got a request from the seller asking for a pic of the RNS-D unit I have in the RS6...sent that off to him....He is now asking for a pic of the wiring diagram which he says is on the top of the unit.......here's the question/request....how do I pull the RNS-D....or has anyone got an old unit out of the car that they could send a pic of the wiring diagram?
This is what I have....probably standard

Latest...I'm in Baku...just off the phone with the missus, there's been a lot of fu*king about with the delivery...I bought this on paypal so should have been easy.
Looks like it originated in China...yes I'm thinking what you're thinking...took a few days in Germany...this is thru the DHL log.
There's been a Chinese fellow on the phone :biggrin3: ..asking my wife if the package has arrived yet.
She's going to pick it up tomorrow from the DHL office in Aberdeen...so will report back when the unit is opened and inspected.

Well it's arrived and from what the wife tells me looks solid enough and has survived it's trip from the Far East.
Quick question...how hard is it to remove the original unit..special tools needed?...It's meant to be plug and play so if the original can be easily removed I'll have a go myself...anyone done this job?
