Post by bam_bam » Tue May 31, 2011 6:39 pm

Does anyone have access to something that would tell the part number and dimentions for the bonnet vent on an A2?

Ah.

I see what you need.

You actually need an A2 to measure / note part no.

Any on autotrader in your area?

I'd really appreciate that! I see one on my cycle route to work and I've stopped twice to take photos but spotted some major curtain tweaking. I think whipping out a tape measure is a bridge too far. Some photos of the underside would be sweet too.

Upgrade on the go?? You going to have 2 smaller vents each side of the bonnet?

Not planning on it. I'll do the Sportec undertray mod plus have this A2 vent sitting neatly over the back of the engine (about 230mm back from the rear bonnet edge). I've also got the aux radiators to go on. Hopefully that'll keep everything cool and won't look too chavard. I'm thinking, most people won't even notice the A2 cooling vent mod.

1st one I know of. It just dawned on me one day. Take a look at any bog standard med/large Merc from 2000-2004 and you'll see a similar vent. They're really innocuous but it's too long to fit on the '6. Then one day I noticed the little A2 had one. I've now measured it all up on the spare bonnet, I think it'll look very low key but still let a shitload of heat out. Looking forward to seeing it.

Really good idea and should look smart. Have you tried a photo Shop pic at all? You of all people should be able to slap something together.
