I have 2 small black plastic boxes on my dash one over to left, one in the middle both up by the screen. They seem after market and are stuck on with double sided stiky and have a wire out the back, they are made in Tiawan and by ACC..... I assume they are not part of the sat nav??? Any one know what they are. I want to remove them.

Nothing springs to mind, but some pics may help to get some suggestions back on what they may actually do.

Might be able to track the cables. Any other funny looking boxes dotted around the car e.g. boot?

Aftermarket nav aerial maybe? I fitted these with aftermarket RNSE units...similar to this:

Grum they look like that, but why would it need another sat aerial, the car has sat nav???
GPS on roof...could it be for a radar detector...

I think the roof 'shark fin' is for the radio (amplifier underneath it). The nav aerial is on the rear side windows (I could be wrong). If the RNSE (nav) has been fitted as a non option (aftermarket) then the dash mounted aerial is incorporated. Some fit them on top of the glovebox (under dash) others on the dash by the screen. I fit them at the base of the drivers A pillar.
Remove the nav unit, remove the aerial plug and remove the box to remount it somewhere else. Unsure why you have two though.
Trust this helps

I should think so. It's easy to do yourself - honestly. Get some radio keys:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC5-93-Audi-TT-A3 ... 255f40d2e0
Remove the unit and you will see the plug at the back (small black wire). Unplug this and it's free to remove. You will lose the GPS reception for the nav though. You can then move the dreaded black box to the location of your choice - ontop of the glovebox (under the dash) is popular. OR, at the right hand side of the windcreen. Your eyes won't notice it half as much.
If you give your local Audi dealer a call and tell them the reg number they will tell you how the car was spec'd (with or without nav.) It's free and will give you more of a clue if your unit was retro fitted.
Good luck. Let me know your results.
