Couldn't agree more. Called them regarding a claim for legal expenses for a client and had a 20 minutes conversation with some nice lady from another continent explaining why my client wanted to utilise said cover. At the end she asked "so does your client want to cancel the policy"!!!! WTF.......

Be careful if you have mods.
I found hat some companies will only take certain mods (or limit the number you can have). I found that the only company that would take my car was Admiral (which seems to be regularly mentioned when this topic comes up). Swift wouldn't take a modded car. Not declaring changes obviously invalidates your insurance so make sure you spell everything out. I had some silly quotes when I declared all the mods (£3k etc) but Admiral came in at £750 (12yrs no claims, 40yr old, 3 points, central London).

I'm with these guys:
http://www.mayfaironline.co.uk/
Mods declared etc, 6000 miles per year, paying £670 and that's with 6 points and my wife had a fault claim on her own cover in last 5 years.

any tips on language or description to use when declaring mods to insurers / warranty companies? I've found that describing the switch from DRC to Bilsteins (or change of ARB to Hotchkis) quite often just causes so much confusion on the phone to staff in insurers call centers. I'm sure they all just group suspension changes into the same bucket regardless of make, type, etc. i often feel I'm wasting my time explaining the benefits of chucking away Audi's DRC
