cheers Doug and the MRC boys

Post by scooby-tc » Tue Feb 01, 2011 8:50 pm

took my RS6 in for a health check,dyno and ramp check today and they kindly provided me with a list of 'must do's' which i would have never have known if it wasnt for their thorough checks so massive thanks.Slightly disappointed with the dyno figures but at least i know why now so the search is on for miltek 100 cell downpipes

I will be in touch re Stage 2 remap :)

What was causing your power drain? What did you dyno at?
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

my standard downpipes are zapping the power as i still have the precats in place and it is also running too much boost so everything is getting too hot too quickly even though i have wagners.So i need 100/200 cell miltek downpipes and a stage 2 remap then all should be ok.It dynoed at 488/530 running 1.15-1.2 bar boost

I guess with the stage 1, wagners and Millie catback you were hoping for 500+ but hey 488 is not too shabby. Lots claim big numbers (especially sellers) but at least you have a good ref point. I found some zeller 200 cell cats (up to 650bhp) on fleabay, Grizz suggested buying straight thought downpipes and welding the cats in, think it works out a fair bit cheaper that the Millie sports cats - also not seen a milltek 200 cell kit but to be fair have not looked that hard!
Keep us updated on progress, I have a 2003 avus saloon and apart from mtm exhaust and kw3 it's standard. Think I am sold on the wagners alreadybut keen to see what you think the best upgrades are?

Cheers

I would Also like to thank Doug and the guys at MRC, had my standard 6 dynoed at 460, then after stage 1 got 507.

Very pleased with the way it runs now, would recommend to anyone thinking about getting it done.

did you go catless d/p then? or have the precats gutted as i still have the standard d/p and it stangles the power as it gets too hot too quickly

Hey, Doug - I'm still waiting for the photos of my carbon build up and dyno run from December. But a free Miltek will do instead! :wink:
