Fitted these pads £80.00 for front n back, however, when breaking, immediately at the point of stoping dead, the pads seem to create a shudder on the disc, it's very slight, but slightly annoying.,! Anyone having a similar problem,& can it be cured???? Cheers

I haven't fitted mine, but a friend has on his S6. Same problem. Resolved by carving a slight chamfer on the leading edge of the friction material.

Do you have any pics of this? How much or a chamfer are we talking about here? I have Mintex pads on at the mo and get the same little graunch at the end of braking. It's no big deal, but as I'm about to fit new pads I might as well have a go at solving the judder while I'm at it. What did you use to chamfer the pad - I'm guessing a file would do the trick?

Don't have any pics. I'll ask the question. But a small chamfer of about 1mm should be enough to tell you if it's going to work or not. I'll do it on mine before putting them in.

Surely if you only chamfer 1mm then after 1mm wear it will be gone again - you need to chamfer the full working depth of the pad unless you are going to repeat the process on a regular basis???

Or you could buy OEM pads I guess!!

The reason I bought the mintex pads is because the OEM contain a time bomb that destroys your disks (the infamous metal pins half way through).

And the 1mm was to test whether the chamfer would be effect before hacking half of them away, hence the

my pads havent arrived yet. Am i right in thinking all the front 8 pads are the same, so i'll just have to file one side on 4 pads and the other end of the pads on the other 4?

Yes, but not before the damage is done.

That's what the mischeivous pins are for. The key to remember is that as soon as they come on, you need to get the pads changed - if not, then you will start to score the disc. If you keep driving it then gets worse.

Of course, the scoring does mean that you actually get slightly more wear from the next set of pads as they don't wear so much where the pins are!

No pins = no warning!
