I know the RS6 is a nice car, but...

Post by Fizmo100 » Sat Oct 02, 2010 12:25 am

Popped into a nearby nightspot to pick some friends up after a meal tonight. I pulled up (with the car in a pretty grubby state if I'm honest) at the only available bit of kerb to wait for them, which just happened to be next to the most glorious brand new Aston DBS Volante.

I'd been there for less than a minute before there was a crowd admiring my car, which was a bit embarassing for me as I was still sat in it trying to look inconspicuous.

The weird thing was no one seemed to be bothering with the Aston... What's all that about?!? I love the RS6 with a passion, but I know which car I'd have been perving at!

Maybe its because of the Q-car curiosity, in that the RS6 isn't a flash motor but it is completely bonkers - an estate car that's faster than most other cars on the road. The Aston Martin is stunning but it can create envy, whereas I like to think an RS6 encourages admiration.

I reckon there's definitely something in that - people take the mick about the 'flash motor' but in the grand scheme of things the 6 is both classy and discrete.

Though I guess the fact I was wearing nothing but a wooly hat and flip flops might have had something to do with it. 8)

I know I would be crowding around your 6 as well, wouldn't bat an eyelid at the Aston. 8)

Was your engine running?

I find mine turns heads because it sounds so different to most cars. People then look past me to try and see what exotic beast is causing the noise. Comical.

Funny you should ask, it occured to me after I'd posted that I let the engine tick over for a bit before turning everything off - maybe the Milteks were what did it. But still... it was a brand new DBS Volante...
