I'm looking to sell my 2004 RS6 Avant.

It has covered approximately 70,000. I bought it from Fontain 2 years ago.
its black externally (unmarked) with black leather interior with matching piping also unmarked. Totally standard, although it does have the solar sunroof, not sure if this was standard or not.

It needs the suspension looking at.
It needs brakes service, certainly pads and maybe a couple of discs.
It requires a full service, (i would replace the belts at the same time for peace of mind, Fontain were a bit sketchy if this was done or not before i bought it)
finally it requires an mot

oh and its had new tyres.

can anybody help on a realistic valuation.
In anticipation thanks

The problem is it needs 4k + spending on it ..

Do you get it done and sell it for 18k as a mint car or drop it a couple of grand and walk away..

dont spend money on it ... people never want to pay the value you have created ... sell it needing those things done and price appropriately .... the price ??? mmmmm .... £15,000 ? maybe put coilovers on it ... ?

Suspension - Replace with H&R Coilovers - £1,500.00
Discs and Pads all round £1,600.00
Full Service - £400
Cambelt etc - £1,200.00 [if it needs doing before the next sheduled service]
ATF Changed - £250.00

My advice, take it to Unit 20, MRC, QST, AMD get a decent health check and see what actually needs doing. Now that you have identified/indicated already what's not quite right and needs doing you might find it bit tricky getting good price.

You probably looking at £14K if it needs all the above.
Get it all done and £17K-£18K would be about right. As a potential buyer would be looking at a year, may be longer, without a big spend.

What fingers01 said is pretty spot on I reckon...tricky to decide what's best for a quick sale...sell as is or fix and sell?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2080960.htm this sold in less than 24hrs. Most of you will say it was too cheap but i think the market for these cars is only going down i'm afraid :(

yup .... you will not be able to realise £18k for your car if you plough £4k into it

sell as it, or at least fix what needs fixing (i.e. DRC)

I'd say get it fixed mate, but I guess that depends on your individual cash flow situation. Its a buyers market just now so you likely get the usual vultures looking for an opportunistic meal!

If this one wasn't blue i'd have dropped my s4 £1- 1.5k just to get it

very good spec!

grizz, aka_dk, fingers01, chunky79, RS6_Dave, bilko1, kaisersolsay, golfather, thank you all for your speedy responses.
yeah, bit of a quandrie really, i would be very suprised if it made 15k given the work required, but its good to be honest. i like to sleep at night!. i suppose somewhere between 12.5k and 13.5k and take the hit.
Dam you house deposit, dam you...... thanks all
