Warranty Direct

Post by philroach » Thu Sep 09, 2010 8:29 pm

Just got a quote from these guys , very friendly , apparently they have a new underwriter who will cover our cars
£775 incl tax etc per year , for prestige and performance extra care policy , which seems pretty comprehensive
I think they also include emissions and airbag cover , and wear and tear after a 90 day period , all subject to a prior inspection .
Any of you guys got the same policy?
any comments or things I should be asking about?
Cheers
Phil

Yeah, got the same policy and have been with them for 2 years. They will wriggle to avoid paying, but dont they all. They have been good to me with drc swap for coilovers and some other bits and bobs but they have let me down on oil leaks. They wont cover them unless it requires the removal of the engine or gearbox. Just be carefull when wording the details of any claims you make, they are very specific as to whats covered and whats not and they always lean toward whats not covered. I know there are very few good warranties out there, with Audi being the only real world package you can rely on (if you can stomach the £2.5+ tag) but on the whole i think WD is worth a look when all you have to compare is Warrantywise and a couple of others.

I did alot of research and went with them in the end, got a contact guy there who was very helpful
£750 for the prestige cover, emmisions and entertainment FOC
£50 so I don't have to pay toward the parts

£50 excess on the claim

Car currently in At Russell Automotives with a failed Alternator so I will touch base again if they cover it, they were asking alot of questions today to the garage.

On the Flip side I have delt with warrantywise and would never purchase there Warranty they are Crap.

Many a dealing and it always ends in tears for the owner

They would not renew or pay a claim for a thermostat or leaking rocker covers. Got fed up with hours on phone, letters and inspectors not turning up.
