Warranty renewal time again

Post by marmite » Fri Jul 02, 2010 11:30 pm

Wow the years have gone quick!!

Audi letter arrived to say my warranty is due to expire soon £1700ish for the year

I have had about £5k+ done this year under warranty already

Is anyone having joy with any other company

Warranty wise are Quoting £1200ish for a fairly good cover
warrantydirect aren't quoting...seen this in other threads
AA waiting for a price

I have delt with warranty wise at work a few times and they can be hard work, waiting for engineer to come out and them saying NO to certain items, not covering an Oil leak unless the engine has to come out?
This has been on Porsche not on these beasts, so I was wondering if anyone has this policy and had the usaul things replaced with them, 9 out 0f 10 times is how you word it too them aswell

Cheers

£1700ish sounds very cheap for audi cover. is this the mondial cover, or a dealer specific aftermarket company ?

You can't put mondial cover on a car beyond its 5th birthday. This won't be the official Audi warranty - is it through a dealer group?

£1700 just seems alot when you can cover a Porsche for 995 - 1290 and this Inc £211 check and it is bumper to bumper

I have always used Warrantywise and they have been excellent for the last two years on my BMW M3. Mind you I did include the option of wear and tear cover and this is the biggest get out clause there is on warranties.

That is odd. My dealer offered named cover mondial for 2500+. I phoned Audi customer care to be told the same thing. All component at £1240 can be put on up to 5th birthday, then named at £2500+ after that.

Can you check it please - my warranty ran out last week and I would have gone for it at that. Both dealer and Audi CS are adamant, I think the amount was £2570. For one year. Renewal.

Yes, that is what I understand too, my first post was wrongly worded!
All component up to 5th birthday to give cover up to 6th, then named component after that.

£2500 does not seem good value for named. £1700 would be ok-ish.

Just been quoted £2376.00 for 15k a year max or £2764.00 unlimited by Derby Audi (whom I really rate service wise). After 100K miles I'm fairly sure it's a more limited cover though. Not due till September so I'm not sure what to do. It might be bye bye Plus!

its a double edged sword....i wouldn't pay £2.5k for an Audi Warranty, but wouldn't have the stomach to run an RS 6 without one...unless it was a 2nd car
