Why is every f3cker selling all of a sudden
Everytime I log in here lately people are selling left right and centre, whats the beef....

A nice sensible family estate

Some owners have had their cars for quite a while and just want a change. Many will have kept their cars longer than they wanted to to 'weather the storm' that was the price crash. It's natural to wait until the prices have recovered somewhat (i.e. now) and then sell so they can move on.
Other reasons being job losses/change in circumstances or even dismay at the cost of just running the vehicle (petrol prices getting silly, servicing costs etc. etc.)
There is also the fact that the warranty companies are starting to get wise to RS6 claims and aren't offering policies any more (or charging more for the ones they do decide to offer), so people want out as they are not prepared to run the car without the peace of mind.
Another reason might just be demoralisation. The constant issues with DRC becomes too much to cope with and the thought of using coilovers on todays pot-hole ridden roads and losing some comfort just proves too much.
Many reasons...but in a nutshell it is becoming more and more expensive to run these cars and that, coupled with the price recovery is too tempting for some and they get out smelling of roses having enjoyed the car.

I must admit I was tempted, I looked at a couple of RS4's, but I had to ask myself if I wanted to spend all that extra money on a car I didn't like as much as my RS6. Don't get me wrong I liked the RS4 Avant but when the traders were only offering me 11.5k for my RS6 and the average RS4 Avant was 30k it just didn't make sense. Yeah sure the RS6 is expensive to run but like SteveCuz points out, what can you buy on similar performance for a similar price..... simple answer is you can't. For me E90 M3, C6 RS6 when prices come down are potential dream options but for now I'll happily make do..

Ok, seein's you asked....
I am selling mine as its just time to move on, I have loved every moment of my ownership, even the <beep> ones, as when the car has been mended its like a re-birth getting back in it.
The car is now better than its ever been, The Viper map is astonishing, but I just want to move on, the car was a very selfish thing- my wife hated it and my daughter loved it but she is only 3 (nearly) and I need to lavish the same time and effort on them as I have done on my car for 4 years!
Its not a financial thing, its not a pissed of thing, like grizz, just moving on.
There will be nothing to match the noise and drama of this car, and I will miss her, but I loved my dog, it died, i got over it- I will get over this ( or buy another one!!)

It's all Bollox.
Half of what you read is bull and the other half is all <beep>.

In all seriousness though, I understand your point about your wife because mine is similar. She likes the ride of the car and the feel but gets v p1ssed off with the amount of time and energy that goes into the car, I'm sure that was the case for you.white23 wrote:I love my dogCornishmoocher wrote:Ok, seein's you asked....

I was tempted to get an RS4 and looked at a couple but the more I looked at them the more I realised I just didn't like it as much as my Six, its a hell of alot of car for the money. You're right in respect of 'issues resolved'. Its taken time/love/money to get mine right and its banging now, so why would I want to 'invest' in more potential problems when I've got a car that ticks every box, enough room for two kids, pushchair, fat english bull terrier and a weeks shopping and the performance of a supercar...nazo wrote:Well chaps, its also a good time to buy for a potential purchaser like me..more choices available and hopefully worst aspects resolved. The quandary is deciding RS4 B7 or C5 RS6.. and the more i read here the more i am tempted towards RS6..

"Been there, worn the t shirt" ... For me, the C6 was great to start .. very solid & no rattles; the MTM 700 bhp is cataclysmic power BUT I lost my enjoyment in driving the C6. Much heavier car needs the extra power, seats not so comfortable, driving felt more detached & extremely heavy on petrol.MoRS6+ wrote:Ignore all what I just said; C6 RS6 prices are dropping and the allure of having one of those and easily being able to get 700hp from it is becoming harder and harder to resist!!
700 is the new 500!!
It's Nigel's fault! That's why everyone's selling!!!
C5 anytime for me ... so mine is not for sale !
My new Cayenne Turbo is due for delivery end July 2010 !
