It could be worth it for the sound / looks if that's your bag. Don't expect any power gains from a catback though.

I think he means a freeflow, straight through jobbie. If so, go for it!

Oh yeah, I should learn to read. :) A free flow would be ace. I remember starting my Rangey V8 without any exhaust manifolds and it made the most exciting noise I've ever heard.

You should get out more Shoppinit! Try drag racing if you fancy a great exhaust note!

Think NASCAR with the volume turned down to 10... from 11.
I've set money aside for 3" CAT-less downs next month.

is that a miltek system? how much will that cost? and what sort of power gains would you expect from decatting, is there any negative effects? what powergains will it give?

I'll let you know after the installation, there is other work to be done that will also require a remap. It's ok, I'll feed the backs.

Maybe, maybe not.

I got a few quotes for a custom exhaust... not cheap and it'd have to be an engine out job to be done correctly (so I'm told). I've just checked my quotes for what I want to get done next month, it says "Milltek will do us a nocat downpipe.." - that doesn't tell me it will be 3" as everything Milltek list for the C5 RS is (only!!) 2.75". Still, it'll be interesting.

yes i saw on their website... if i remember rightly to work with 3 inch properly you need some good equipment as some of the smaller custom exhaust places use a crushing method to make the bends and it narrows the bore even more so on the bends.. i cant remember what the other method is called but i bet 3 inch complicated pipe work will not be cheap..

of course if you had LPG you would never have emission problems :-) i still cant decided what todo with mine... might run it for 6 weeks and see how much fuel i will use and work it out. Be kinda nice if i do any long distance that i will have a pretty good range between the petrol and lpg tank before i have to stop.

lol. i am convinced. doing it as soon as i am back from thailand. the were removed when engine was out (it was a wise decision!!!!) so it will be awesome!
spoke to the exhaust guys. it not even expensive. 6000 rand (about 700 us dollars) for a full stainless steel dual 3inch set
thinking about putting quad tail/end pieces?anyone has a pictures of these somewhere so i could show it to the guys?
