HI guys, should i be worried, whilst cruising down the motorway this afternoon, i glanced down and saw that my engine management light had come on.

The beast has only just been serviced, any ideas. Thanks. Chris.

I'd be concerned. Get it back to the garage and get them to check it out.

There are 2 "check engine" warning lights. One is for emissions, and the other is for the engine management problems. The former tend to be lambda sensors, SAI, and all that happy emissions stuff. The second one is the EPC light and generally involved something like throttle body problems, gearbox malfunctions, etc. Which one have you got?

I had the engine management light come on my RS6, like you, the engine was running fine. Problem was with the secondary air system, stealer changed a split hose but light came back on within a week, changed more hose, light back on, cleaned out EGR Valves, light back on, told me I would need to take heads off and decoke? Decided at this stage to get second opinion and took car along to Star Performance, within 20 minutes fault diagnosed to secondary air pump knackered, changed out no further problems. Audi Service - useless, story is much longer but I will highlight that to all in a separate post
