Battery dimension...

Post by Smokes » Fri Apr 16, 2010 1:27 pm

Hi, the original varta battery has finally died and have got hold of a Bosch S5 replacement. The battery however is shorter than the original and so the retaining bracket doesn't reach over the edge of the battery to hold it in place. I've checked a few dimensions of other replacement too and they are all shorter. Am I being really stupid and missing a spare bracket somewhere? or do I just need to bodge it in place with a new bracket?

Thanks!

I have the same problem. I can hear it thumping around in the boot when I go round corners. I must wedge it in one of these days.

I've only been saying that for a year :(

lol! Guess I'll have to combine some cable ties and a home made wedge/bracket :D

I have / had the same problem too. I solved it by wedging an old, thick bath towel in the gap. Doesnt move at all now and as an added plus i now have a towel to clean or dry my hands on if i need to get them dirty in an emergency.

Same problem even though the new one seems to be slightly larger capacity.Cable ties are indeed a wonderful invention!
