Interesting prob.
Was driving home in lashing rain the eve and hit a rather large puddle.
When i got home, i noticed that the passenger seat, and the far nearside of the dash were covered in water!
All the windows were closed, and door shut!
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers

Yep, had the same thing a few months ago two times in a row.
Went through a really deep long puddle at high speed and water sprayed through what I think was the bottom corner of the door seal area.
Water was everywhere over the passenger seat and door card, made me jump out of my skin as it was so unexpected. (drove through another deep puddle and it happened again).
It may of just been coincidence but the wheel arch liner had became lose due to getting snow stuck under it, now fitted correctly and it hasn't happened since, but then again ive been now avoiding driving through deep puddles at high speed.

Maybe it's the classic water leaking in through the pollen filter thing, and the puddle is just coincidence (after all you only get puddles when it rain

)

Actually, the wheel arch lining is vented to allow air in to the engine bay, but it also lets copious amounts of water in. It's also a fairly obstacle free path from the wheel arch to the pollen filter, too.

The water was very localised around the top of the dash, near the window, and the NS part of the seat

There are two separate problems - and I've had both.
Simplistically if water is flying around in car then it's the door seals - try a little vaseline on them so they seat better.
If floor is wet following rain then it's probably the Pollen filter - remove, clean and re-seat properly - also clean the drain gulleys.
Oh, and if it's wet with no rain, then it's the pipe to the rear wash - remove trim and fix back together!
All in all the passenger seat area isn't a great place to be when it's wet - so stay on the drivers side!

Where is the TCU? Driver or passenger side?

Passenger side - along with a variety of other systems - all designed to get wet!!

Wasnt a simple leak or puddle in my case, it was like somebody spaying a jet washer inside the car (water all over door card, part of dash and soaked the whole passenger front seat).
At first I though it came out the dash air-vent, but after I hit the second section of deep water it looked like it was being compressed through the door seal just above the speaker at v.high pressure.
