higher mileage rs6

Post by andyleeds » Thu Feb 25, 2010 10:00 am

morning everyone, i was wondering what peoples opinion on this higher mileage rs6, what i mean is, if a health check showed that it had been looked after and was in good condition mechanically. what do people think something like this would be worth. i am thinking that it has already gone over the 100k barrier so it should be at a price that takes this into acct?

all comments appreciated.

I think that one is a good buy mate.
Audi warranty its whole life means it's A-ok condition. Gearbox underwarranty for another 14 months.
You could prob also make him a cheeky offer

almost tempted myself....

Good price! If got such a good service history then thats probably 3-4k cheaper than it would be at say 70k. Check discs, brakes and bear in mind that according to my forum buddies here the DRC system will fail at some point but its lasted 100k! Billstien PSS9's replacements are £1200 fitted I think..

Hi mate, yeah as above check all the basic major things, i have just purchased an RS6 that has done 101k miles, it is in pristine condition in and out and runs like a dream, providing all previous history is intact, i would rip his hand off and buy. Good luck. Chris.

I'd say its a fair price...book is around £11.250, so he is being realistic

take it for £12k and be happy !

I wouldn't touch a high miler.
Low milers give enough issues as it is, high milers just increase the risk even further - more wear and tear, seals ageing and perishing, leaking gaskets etc...

The cars are really cheap to buy for sure, but its the maintenance costs that is the catch...
And a warranty will ease the blow to your pockets, but not the headache ;)

very true, but sometimes I find it difficult to shake off the rose tinted glasses on these beasts! 8)

every one of these cars is a gamble really, and a car thats been under Audi warranty its whole life, had the gearbox and DRC replaced recently, is perhaps less of a gamble than another...

but its still a gamble

he who dares ! :P
