REPAIRS / SERVICE - UNIT 20 / MRC / "ROB" @ AUDI

Post by Fingers01 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 7:46 pm

Are these the only three places in the whole of the UK that can look after the RS6,RS4 etc etc.....??

There must be more out there!!

Any other dealers out there with good after sales/customer service either AUDI or Independent can't only be three surely?

You have most of the top names under your hat already but it pays to look around depending on the job. Where are you in the UK? For detailed and crucial work such as belt changes, gearbox work and anything requiring the engine to be dropped then i can only say, definately go to the above mentioned names. If its basic stuff like 10k, 20k servicing then a good specialist independant can offer an alternative. Don't ever go for the cheapest option though and make sure you test the water before leaving the beast in their hands.

I live in Poole and use a fantastic garage called Kartechnic. It was set up by 2 ex-BMW / Merc chief mechanics and have experience in the race / tuning scene too. Ive had alot of work done there including adjusting the map, gearbox servicing, PSS9 fitment and interval servicing. They often have other RS6's in at the same time along with Porkers, Ferraris and the usual Kraut-build luxury cruisers. There will be a garage like this in every county, you just have to find it amongst the rif-raf! When the time comes to have the belts done etc then it'll be off to MRC / U20 for me but for the regular stuff then i firmly trust my local experts.

Just my 2p.

I live in East Kent- have tried East Kent Audi [EKA] - emergency wheel bearing change out, no choice but to use them - parts price OK but labour rate ....K!!

60K service @ EKA quoted £718.00 plus VAT - no chance - went to QST

60K service + Brake Fluid + 4 wheel alignment - @ QST - £634.00 all in.

EKA (my local outfit too) are up there with the highest labour rates in the UK. Wont use them at all. Would be sending it up to MRC on the back of an AA Recovery Vehicle...

QST/MRC/Unit 20 et al - their labour rates are gonna be circa £55-60/hr + VAT. EKA was I think about £110/hr +VAT.

I have to say Rob at Camberley is the best main dealer I have ever known having had an M3, 330, S4 and a Range Rover.

Camberley are very competitive even with the specialists, know RS's inside out and are all enthusiasts!

Other main dealers do have a failry good rep for knowledge of these cars ie Lincoln Audi, Glasgow, Aylesbury and Northampton but for sheer service it has to be Camberley imho

that's my 2p
