all other doors are fine ,, but drivers door is stuck solid
has happened before , but normally give the window frame a bit of a push , and the frozen bits come apart
even the door handle stayed 'out' when i pulled it
had to lean over the back seat to fire the beast up this morning , 5 minutes later , car is all warm , but i have had to scramble across the passenger seat to get in , and even a 15 stone 'soft' shoulder barge couldnt shift the door !!!
handles both move , locking knob does pop up with handle or plipper
any thoughts ???? or solutions please ????
Phil

Are you absolutely sure that the lock operated?

Violence is the answer when the door is just frozen into its frame, but if the lock sticks there is not that much that can be done until it warms up, which takes ages even with the heater full on.

On all my other Audis, holding the driver door handle out for a few seconds activates a lock heater - de-ices the lock pretty quickly. Haven't tried it on the '6 though.

still wonder what can be sprayed / rubbed on door seals, ( not vaseline !! ) , and in to lock , to stop it happening again???

Same thing happened on my 2002 S6 this week, looks like the water gets down the window scraper rubber and freezes in the lock. My one normally opens OK but just bounces open when you try and shut it. I sprayed in lots of WD40 then white lithium grease spray and it seems to have helped.
Next time i'm going to strip the lock and give it a clean and a sevice. It never hapens when you have time! only when you are in a rush!
Saying that it has been -10C up here in Aberdeenshire! not that common.
Regards
Coullboy.

That's what I like about Audi's! Common faults are a sign of good engineering!
I think my wife made it worse by pouring hot water into the lock, fixed the imediate problem but not so good the next day!
