Is this the tyre everyone is using on the RS6 i need 2 new rear, are these any good for the 6, and is it the right speed rating for the car? any ifo would be great.

mines always had the 255/35/19 96Y think this is what its supplied with

96Y ? what does that mean i am a bit dumb where tyres are concerned so the 91y is no good then

I just fitted a set of Vreds 275/30/19 all round, no issues with rubbing.
Camskill gave a good service to taking the lead time down from 3 weeks to 5 days.

That bit is the load rating, it must be 96 for the 6 and the letter is the speed rating.

255/35/19 - the right size for the RS6.

NO!!!!!
91 is far too low for the load rating! It should be 96!
91 equates to a max tyre load of 615kg whereas 96 would be max 710kg - what the RS6 demands.

Scroll down and the Vreds. you want are on special offer at 145.90 each! Their specs are: 255/35R19 96Y XL TL (correct for the RS6).
Mind you, you'd better check if anyone else on here is running those - reason I say that is because these are in the OEM size and many of us on here are running the 275/30/19 without any issues. I cannot recall if anyone is actually using the Vreds in the OEM size(?!).

AS you are looking for two rears you should be fine with the 255/35R19 96Y XL TL as recommended by MoRS6+ above. Pretty sure I have seen others on here who have used on the front OK - but there is definitely more clearance on the rear anyway.

Some slight confusion. I just went outside to look at my tyres which I got from mytyres.co.uk and they say ZR not just R like the ones on the Camskill page. So you'd better ring Camskill first to double-check.
After reading the following page:
http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html it appears that it shouldn't matter as the shortened ZR to just R seems to be a result of the DIN (Deutsche Industrie Normal) being responsible for the change in the way the information is presented on the side of the tyre - especially since the speed rating is still there at the end (Y - up to 186mph).
I just find it weird how on the Mytyres.co.uk website they show ZR for the Vreds and on Camskill it just says R for the Vreds (however all the ratings do check out) - so please, ring Camskill first to clarify if there is any difference and why the Z is missing.

well i have cleared one thing up that its got to be 96Y but still do not know what to go for now you have given me another option of having a lower profile ie;30 is there any benefit of having this i realise would be less tyre roll on cornering but would it increase road noise? also got more chance of damage to wheels because lower profile... ooh dont know what to go for.

Been running mine since Feb and they are PERFECT! No rubbage for me - AND crucially, it is IMPOSSIBLE to kerb your wheels with these fitted, trust me.
On the downside, they ARE firmer and not as comfortable as the 255/35, but my primary motivation was protecting the alloys. The firmer ride is a small price to pay for protected alloys imho.

I am running Vreds in standard 255 35 19 guise, bought from camskill.
I have done a couple of thousand miles on them and found that they offer a good compromise of wet/dry grip and reasonable ride quality / noise levels. They are certainly excellent value and I would recomend them. I would have gone for the 275 30's but her indoors moans about the ride as it is......
