Hi all
Long story but a friend of mine has just emailed me saying they are having a debate in their office about which would be quicker a tuned RS6 or a standard GTR over a timed mile..
I would have thought a standard RS6 would be able to hold it's own?!.. Anyone done it or know and times?... ta

Nissan GTR 0-150 takes 20 seconds.
RS6 (standard) takes 26.8
I don't even think 500bhp would take that figure down to 20. Has anyone v-boxed theirs?

I'm afraid the 6 has no chance. I tried a head to head with a GTR, albeit my cat is a 'meagre' 450 bhp, and there was not really a contest ..
C5s are 5 years old though!

I must admit I was royally spanked by a black GTR north of Birmingham last month
They are superb cars in my opinion, but I love my Audi!
Let them fall into my price range and I may be tempted!

They're supposed to be rapid. I was gonna take the plunge to get one a few weeks ago before seeing sense. They'll be a good used buy in a few years.

Don't they have gearbox problems ?
Something to do with the launch mode ?
Even so give it a couple of years...............
Once the kids have left home.....

I heard a story that one guy got stumped with a big bill (in its thousands) after he took it back to Nissan trying to claim under warranty.
Long story short, Nissan did a data-log (the thing is a computer on wheels) and found out that he had been launching it at silly RPM before the advised run-in period and services etc. Needless to say, he had to foot the bill himself.

My mate's got one (selling it though), and I've been in it, and alongside/behind it in my RS6. It's in another league, whether you're remapped or not.

I have had a bash with a GTR.
M6 toll booths, alongside each other all the way in the queue, nodded, and he waited for me ( it was early).
rolling start, from maybe 10mph.
i was with him upto 100mph, really with him......maybe even a bit in front by an inch or two of nose, then something really strange happened. He disapeared. And I dont mean just faded away, it was like he hit a hyperspace button, by the time i hit the section where it narrows into 3 lanes, i was doing 160 and I could not see him.
Don't even go there is my advice, you get a guy who can drive and he will kill you in every way possible and then make you look stoopid for even trying.
I spoke to S4int/RS paul about this. Apparently at 100 mph, the aerodynamics kick in and its like an extra 100hp going to the wheels.
VERY VERY VERY QUICK CARS>

Jeeezuz, that GTR is rapid it surely must be heavily modified tho as those bussa's are mad quick (been on the back of one at stupid speeds, never again)!
I know a lad who owns a black edition GTR and will deffo be asking him for a run in it now
