Are you sure it's the turbo? What makes you think this?

You're not too far from Grizz. Might be worth giving him a call?

Why would the smoke be white and not blue if it's oil?

Dropping the engine is a big job and takes 20-25hrs for an experienced hand. Mine was dropped with sub frame/suspension. Supposed to replace both turbos or get them remachined at garrett etc.

I have a pair of old ones but they'd need rebuilt or re-cored.

My right hand turbo let go this year too but I managed to get hold of a pair brand new but 2nd hand.

If you want my old two to get rebuilt let me know. I would like £650 for them.

£650 for a pair of turbos that may not even repair ? thats a bit expensive even for a rs6 owner.

You could make an art-deco hairdryer out of them.

Just offering some help.

They will repair no bother. The LH side one is fine, the RH one, which failed on me would need a recore thats all. Obviously you'd get both done at the same time anyway.

TBH, i have no idea how much they are worth so just asking if anyone would like them to get sent away in the mean time.

To change your turbos you need to drop the engine, gearbox and front subframe with suspension etc. taking up someone's ramps in their garage. You'll be paying for the time on the ramps so you can't leave your car sitting there disabled waiting for your own turbos to come back from a rebuild.

Anyway, just a thought, i won't be using them or sending them away for a rebuild so they are available to whoever might need them.

Eurocarparts were wanting £2600 for a pair of new OEM ones. Didn't bother asking Audi...

GRIZZ

Sorry I have not been in contact re turbos been on holiday.

How much are the turbos? What miles have they done etc

How bad are they to fit? I know the engine /gearbox/ suspension has to be dropped .but can it be done in one big lump? I have my own garage and have done my own cam belt /water pump etc i have limited Audi experience .I would also like a coil over kit for the old girl what would you recommend price please for supply only.

Regards Paul
