Hi guys

Anyone know where it is? Not the actual sensors of course  but the control module? VAGCOM reckons there is a fault communicating to it and before I fork out for one I want to make sure its an easy fix for an amateur like me!

Thanks in advance

Stu :D

The control unit is located in the left-hand stowing compartment of the boot.

4D0 907 273F

VERY expensive.

FIXED!!! And I cant believe how!!!

Mentioned to my mate who is a BMW tech that my TPM had stopped and it was the actual module that was causing the problem. He told me to take the car home, disconnect the battery and touch the two terminals together for 5-10 mins or so. Anyway, with the aid of a big spanner to join the two I gave it a try! Couldn't believe it when I reconnected and it started working again!!!! Not only that, the car seems to be pulling much harder now too (might just be in my head that but its a bonus anyway!!)

Audi wanted £310 + Vat for the module, 1 Hour labour @ £105 + VAT for diagnostic and 1.5 hours labour for fitting!! Thats £658.38 I have just saved!!!

(A very Happy) Stu :D

Hi speedsix

how did you find out that it was the monitor, and not the sensors?

Used my VAGCOM!

Basically I was getting the warning for the TPM on my dash constantly. It wasnt saying they were turned off, it was saying it couldn't find the module. thats why I couldn't disable it!

When I read the fault codes on my VAGCOM it said "couldnt communicate with module"

I guess shorting the terminals out removes all residual current from the car so when the battery is reconnected it ensures all memories in the car have been erased. I think thats prob the same as disconnecting battery for an hour which is what I read somewhere else.
