I'd tell the police and the DVLC at the same time - quite probably a different car on cloned plates

This seems to happen a lot.
When you call Autotrader they seem to know about the scams, so why don't they stop them?
Damn crooks!

Hi, thanks for the interest, the car is located in Prague and so am i where me and my wife recently moved and brought it with us, as you've seen in the ad the price is £6.000, be assured absolutely nothing untoward at all with the car, it's very straightforward. it's in showroom condition, no scratches, no dents, accident-free, MOT'd 17/5/2010 Taxed until Dec '09 all servicing done at Audi's main dealer with hpi clear. 2003 model and still UK registered. RHD, UK supplied (NOT AN IMPORT), 70125 miles on it and it had 4 previous owners. the price for the car includes delivery to your home address and full insurance during shipping. please let me know if you're interested so I can provide you with further details. Kindest Regards Humfrey Crane

Subject: advert on Autotrader
Hi,
I was looking for a RS4, but have just noticed your advert. How come the car is so cheap?
Does it have any service history etc? Is it possible to arrange a viewing?

Lol!
I've genuinely had this exact same scam, but on a more reasonably (seemed closer to market value) price Porsche Cayenne before I got mine.
If you reply to the pre-programmed e-mail the next message you get is that you should ( try to imagine in a George Adibong-Bong voice from 'phone jacker ) "send the moneys" and expect delivery of the car to a port eg Dover on a certain date.
Sadly there must be some people out there who will do this!
