BLANK BUTTON ON DASH?????

As far as I understood, the guy who originally bought my car opted for...ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!! It has the solar panel sunroof, double glazing etc etc.
But there is a a blank space on the dash to the left of parking sensor button and traction control off button.
Anyone any idea what the car "could" have had which would have been controlled from this space???
Please give me your ideas?
Cheers
Matty

Electric rear blind was an option for Saloons only
If you have an Avant, this button will always be blank.
If you're keen, you can get the switch only and slot it in

I think mine's great! It's ace for when you get some tit giving you grief because you left them for dead at the previous set of lights. One press of the button and the blind comes up. There's still *just* enough visibility left to be able to see how much further it winds them up. Not done it for a while.. will have to try it again tomorrow.. heh

Now thats a good idea!
I think thats a good use for the rear blind...
I would be tempted to stencil 'OWNED' onto the blind, and then as they catch up with you at the next set of lights, you can lower the blind to display the message!

the switch is for the rear blind in the saloon.
this is a momentary contact switch with a graphic of a veil on it. i purchased the switch and hooked it to a simple relay so that it now serves 2 functions:
1. mutes my valentine 1, and
2. works my garage door opener.
the "blind" graphic is quite appropriate for both uses i think
oh, and i have no blank switches on the dash (hate the "low rent" look).

what about the scroll wheel to the right of the steering wheel? The left side of it dims the dash lights but the right side is solid and doesn't turn but looks as though it should. Was that an option for something??

In the std A6 that is a scroll wheel to adjust the headlight level manually.
In the RS6 they have the auto adjust Xenon - you can see it adjusting when you have a garage wall in front of you and first start the car with lights on ....

Some people had an aftermarket "picture in motion" button fitted to the blank, which cut the speedometer feed to the tv so that it thought it was stationary, but I believe that this can be dealt with by programming now.
Personally I would us it for a revolving numberplate
