Help car is running like a pig

Hi guys

Took the RS in for an mot, a couple pf months ago and even though the DRC is shot to bits it passed everything except the emissions, as half way through it started running badly as if it was running out of petrol then it started smoking from the offside tailpipe which smelt like neat petrol, took it for a blast after it ran better, enough to pass the emissions test, on the way home it started smoking again whilst missing badly, drove to another mechanic who plugged in a computer and diagnosed MAF sensor problem.

I understand the MAF can be cleaned and it would make some sense that it was clogged / dirty as I get some 'blow back' or so I am told from the turbo which smells a bit oily and you can see oil in the airbox.

Has anybody else experienced this problem ?

The car has done 23000 miles and had not been driven before the mot test for about 4 months............. Major DRC issues coupled with the fact that I try not to drive my nicer cars in the winter.

I would dearly love to do that but Grizz is up in Liverpool and the car is in London and will not get to Liverpool under its own steam, it does not make any sense to pay upwards of £200 in transportation costs just to get the MAF's replacd if that is the problem.
As for dealers I have no faith in them especially as they have managed to well and truly mess my DRC up and I can imagine them telling me all sorts of nonsense replacing all sorts of parts until they get to the MAF's.
I have had nightmarish experiences with incompetent or crooked VAG dealers in the past.

AmD in Woking helped me with an issue today. Very professional service, knowledgable with other RS6/4's being worked on whilst I was there.

Try giving Simon a call through their website.

Hope it all works out.
