How many Pluses were sold in the UK?

Just a quick question if anyone knows.
The run of the plus model was limited to 999.
From that, how many were registered in the UK?

When I purcahsed mine from Audi Lister, the sales guy said that 71 were registered, but with all things from a Stealer, I took this with a pinch of salt.

Would be interested to know the actual or actualish answer.

I attempted to do a bit of research on the plus before I bought mine, but never managed to get 100% conformation on exactly how many there are but 71 does sound about right.

From what little info I did find out, from the original 999 plus's planned by Audi, 100 RHD cars were allocated to the UK & Ireland (80 to the UK & 20 to the Ireland) with the rest being LHD and going to the EU.

But because of the high price and with the new A6 model being released Audi never managed to sell all the allocations, rumours are that they only manage to sell two thirds of them before the production run was ended (less than 600 total was the the number being pushed around).

Its sad I know, but I was building a library of pictures and info from most RS6 plus that have came up for sale over the last 18 months (I stopped my habit when the downturn kicked in as it was too depressing watching the decrication each month to all RS6's).
The highest number I found so far was number 536/999 located in Italy which has a build date very near the end of production of the C5 RS6.

As I first said, none of this 100% comfirmed and is only what I managed to pick up from dealers & scanning the net.
Ive gone through the threads of most Audi forums and havnt found any higher so far, but would like to stand corrected if anybody on here as a higher number or if anybody who access to Audi build numbers could shed some light on the matter.

I would take a good guess that if they never sold all the EU allocation, then there is a very good chance only 71 of 80 UK allocations is correct.

Evo reviews had it listed as £66,675 which they stated was a £7800 premium over the 'std' RS6

Mines 315/999

You would think that they would do a run of RHD all together?

Nick Mason plus was number 428
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/C ... _sale.html
while the one MSN UK reviewed is as low as 214
I thought it would of made sense to build all RHD cars in one run, but I guess not.

Also I noticed spec's varied quite a lot even on what should be a standard plus build and while all the UK cars Ive seen all had the 3 special colour combos's with black optics & titan wheels, a lot of German owners had them spec'd to the standard colours with silver wheels & alloy optics. Apart from the plaque & the chassis number it would be hard to spot over a standard RS6.
