DRC related, but question is regarding audis treatment of me, is this the norm:
I took the car into the dealers on 3/3/09 for a knocking noise I heard on the nearside rear, there technician who sempt a nice noligable fella said it'll be the suspension, I was kind of relieved as I'd paid to extend the Audi waranty, he put the car up on ramp and confirmed 3 shocks leaking so would recomend full new system Inc the valves, said the rear shocks are on back order so will take upto 10days, left dealers expecting a call when in stock!
More to follow

on the 6-3-09 I called and was told the warranty company need photos to prove failure (I thought the fact that a Audi technichian had diagnosed the fault would be enough) so rather than drive to dealers and waste my time and fuel I offered to take photos and email them! I did, had the chase up the next day to make sure the service guy had recieved them!
Now on the 11-03-09 I've been told the warranty company need to send a assessor out, so car needs taking in for that, before they will order parts! I thought parts were allready ordered, the assessor is apparantly comming on the 20-3-09 then god knows how long it'll drag on for, tempted to demand money back and take it for the coil overs,
Any way is this the norm or should I be kicking up a stink, I hoped to take car in, pick up courtesy car and await a phone call to swap cars back, simple
Thanks
Ric

When I were a lad, the technician's judgement was final and I let them deal with the warranty underwritters (time from DRC diagnostic to repaired and clean....max 5 days). It would seem that because of the cost involved in replacing full DRC that warranty companies now appoint assessors to inspect before authorising repair. Bad luck on this one Scoobylaw, somethings do hit the fan, but the beast'll be fixed until the next time!!!!!!

pretty shocking tbh. You'd think it being an Audi warranty (regardless of who underwrites it) would mean an Audi technitian would have the power to diagnose faults and authorise repairs.

Although I dont think there is a chance they will not pay up surely if Audi have diagnosed it, that would make audi look like a bunch of muppets, so its all abit of a waste of time.

If I were you I'd make your unhappiness felt and see if you can blag an C6 loan car for a while its in for repair. . . see if Audi UK will listen

think the only C6 I'll see from them is a Citreon!
The more I think about it the more annoyed I get, think tomorrow Audi uk will recieve a call, anyone know best number to be heard from. Another point is that It don't handle 100% and my mrs drives it to work every day and drops my boy of at nursery!! I know a wheel aint gonna fall of but I paid top whack for the warranty for piece of mind!
Whinge over,
Tempted to avoid Audi from now on.

Audi dealers have a warranty guy on site to deal with these kind of issues, they liaise directly with Mondial who provide the warranty, not sure why you are getting messed around but sadly not surprised anymore.

I wouldn't expect much from Audi UK apart from soothing words and no action, would waste the phone call or your time IMO.

Hi all, little update:
19th April i got a decent courtesy car after complaining.
15 or so phone conversations later and 30days since they first told me drc was fu%*ed they've call me to say the warranty company are honouring the claim! However, when i asked if they are replacing all the shocks / valves, the service person said the fronts and valves are to be replaced, LOL its the back ones with oil all over them!!!! They then but the technician on, he said the warranty company (F&^kin Audi) said they would only do fronts as they had 0 pressure, and the rears had 7psi in so the warranty comp said that was acceptable. How stupid, as the audi dealership requested for all to be replaced! I said "so i'll get the car back, drive it home to find it still knocking and return it, for the same perlava!!!"

Any thoughts anyone?

Only upside is 35mpg from the 3.0tdi courtesy car!

Once again its lack of training that causes the majority of these needless experiences.

Get a copy of the service instructions - they're on the forum somewhere - and take to dealer - clearly says they must be replaced on diagonal - so if both front ones are done, both rears should be done anyway.

IIRC the working pressure of the system is 16 bar (232psi) so if the rear ones have 7 then they are 97% depressured and completely u/s

Hi folks ,just to update on the previous comments i would suggest you check your warranty details as Audi extended warranty require no additional detail they are fully aware of DRC issue, suspect this is a third party warranty company ,for further info give me a call here at Camberley
