I hope no one answers! You would never drive it if you thought too much about it!

But for the record I get 172 mpg......

Cornish that's brilliant, mine is MUCH worse than that. Are you using a spinnaker?

yeah, I get 19mpg pretty much all the time, whether spanking it or just taking it steady. I do find that motorway consumption is better at 90 than at 70 - not sure why but on a 200 mile trip to manchester I went there very slowly, sticking to 70, no air con on and driving really gently - 19mpg, then on the way back drove like I normally do (bit fast!) and got 19.5 mpg....go figure.

With an engine and gearbox remap and driving sensibly upto 90 ish I can get 30/31mpg. Normally it is high 20's due to always doing motorway miles and using Tip all the time.

high 20s on motorway fast cruising - 85 to 90mph.

18-20 on the school runs.

4 tanks per trackday.

yep, on motorways, use cruise at bout 70mph to get around 30mpg - which is bl**dy good for 450bhp !

for every other type of driving you soon wont care once you have THAT power & THAT sound

Depends where you live, city centre then a 1.6 petrol will average 20MPG

Buying this type of car based on MPG is pointless, you might as well buy a Prius.

Most people report an average of 20mpg

My average is 16.7 (going by the computer).

I found that you can't actually try to drive the car economically - whenever I've tried using the real-time mpg thing it is depressing! I just drive it how I like and it seems to actually even out.

I'd make one change to the OP comment, it should be "if you care about it then you can't afford it!" ;)

16.4 for the record :D

I can 'hypermile' for all of 5 mins and then have to give it a blast :)

My current average is 16.8mpg but that is with virtually no motorway driving at all. I fill up the tank (costs approx. 70-75 quid) and that will last me a surprisingly long time as I'm not doing that many miles.
