DRC parts removal - questions

Found a great RS6 with low mileage but after the Audi 110 pt inspection report they find all shox are leaking - no surprise there!
Therefore, after reading so much on DRC I have orderd Bilstein PSS9s to fit to it but all threads I have seen do not mention what needs to be removed off the DRC system? Does everything need to be stripped out (ie hoses/pipes/resevoirs) or can they be capped and left? Is removing all this plumbing time consuming? I won't be doing it myself but the garage has never done DRC so I want to make sure they do it right....
Also, what alignment (toe/camber etc) and ride height do you recommend - stock spec or anything different?
Cheers

I'm in the same boat as you. My usual mechanic has just said he doesn't want to do the job because:
1. a special tool for depressurising is required
2. once the system is removed there will be ECU / warning light problems.
As far as I can tell, there are no electronics connected to the DRC. But I did remember hearing something about ABS sensors?
Can anyone confirm or deny? It looks like a pretty easy job to me and I would have just cut the pipes!
Thanks.

All total bollox.
Undo the interconnecting hoses- youn get a bit of pressure behind it, but tbh if its leaking there wont be much, but you will get oil leaking out so be carefull, as for ecu problems, the DRC is totally stand alone. He knows not of what he speaks.......

Thanks. That's what I thought. I think he called Audi to find out how long the job would take and they must have fed him some propaganda!

KW have step by step instructions for disabling DRC without removal if fitting coil overs. Very simple. Also sticky for pss9 provides details.
PM me for pdf of KW instruction sheet ~ 1MB.

Perhaps someone could post them? Given the DRC failure rate, that could be useful to a lot of people.
Or maybe just amend the DRC sticky?

Except that the guide says you need Audi special tool to de-pressurize the DRC
I don't want a pint of oil shooting into my bloodstream when I start un-doing things... even if it is RS6 oil :p

Undo the the 14mm banjo bolt on the bottom of the rear shock , If the shocks are leaking there will be no more than a dribble ..

Thanks Grizz. Problem is, half the shocks are OK :s Front left and rear right are working nicely.

Just be careful when "cracking off" the banjo on the good circuit .

I think I'll just put a 4 foot extension handle on my angle grinder.

Or tie my girlfriend's guinea pig to the shock and wait till it chews through the hose. 2 birds, one stone.
