went to Santa Pod today for Run what ya brung.

day started off well, had 4 runs; 2 in the RS, then swapped over into my mates little Corsa VXR for 2

1st run struggled for traction, did the 1/4mile in something like 13.7secs, 104mph. 2nd run better start upto 105mph and slightly quicker

Few goes in the VXR was quite fun, slipping all over the place, wheel spinning in 3 rd !

In the RS it was very much effortless.

My mate had a go in the RS and was upgainst a brand new Porsche Boxster S, needless to say the RS ate it for breakfast !

Then it started to rain, and rain it did for 3 hours, once it'd stopped it took then another hour to dry the track then could only open one side. So I went for another run and went home in time for the footie

but here's 2 pics I bought on CD, plan to frame (with a bit of photoshopping out numbers on the windscreen)

did you use launch control for the start or did you value your gearbox ?!

I only have about 3/4 runs, so didnt have enough time to master the start, but found I couldnt get a good start; and a good start makes all the difference once those turbo's spool up

Just turned up at the lights staged and put my foot down, 60' time was not great at 2.0279 reaction time was 1.5240 since I took my time and nailed once I felt car was ready. I have to say the car feels quicker out of roundabouts and off the lights on the road without even trying lending some credence to the half throttle better performance theory..... ;-)
