Rear washer wiper - 2 questions

My car is an RS6+.

First, when I go to wash/wipe the rear window, the wiper works but no fluid comes out. I filled the washer reservoir right up so it's not that. On my old Mk4 golf estate the rear washer pipe came disconnected inside the tailgate and I had to dismantle the trim, re-attach and put a jubilee clip round it to stop it coming off again. Surely I aint got that again have I? Mind you, I swear I can't hear the motor going so I wonder if it's that..

One other thing that always annoys me is that on really wet occasions such as now when the snow is melting (or when raining hard), I hate the rear wiper being intermittent when I'm on the motorway as it just aint wiping frequently enough. Is there anyway to put it into always-on mode?

The jet on the rear wiper could be blocked, use a pin or needle to unblock it. Not aware of any way to put the rear wiper on all the time.

I have exactly the same prob - wiper ok but not the jet. Gonna get it sorted next week.

On that note, if a pin doesn't sort it, be careful. I had been getting steamy windows (very steamy) of late and just put it down to the weather, but after a friend suggested the car might be damp, I investigated it and found a wet rear passenger side carpet. I presume that the pipework goes along here somewhere and in trying to get water out of the rear jet, it has been p*ssing out into the car. I have done as search on here and found that it's a common thing.

I've had a look as to where exactly it might need repairing, but as yet, no luck so like I say, I'll get it sorted next week.

I've suffered with this with the icy weather.

It seems the pipe running the length of the car is in a few sections with breaks near the passenger footwell and over the rear passanger wheel arch.

Try squirting for about 10 seconds then see if you're having fluid leak into the passanger footwell or drip from the rear passenger wheel arch.

There's a tutorial with pics in the RS4 forum for the front footwell. Grizz kindly fixed my drip at the rear wheel so maybe he can shed some light on it !!

Good luck with it as the rear window seems to be a cr@p magnet in these conditions

I should have said, I'm now having it leak into the passenger footwell so it's out with the screwdrivers this weekend

Cheers guys, I'll have a butchers and try to work out where the problem is and report back.

The jet is very easy to remove and replace. It's only a cheap plastic push fit part, simply prise it out and fit a new one, it'll take less than a minute. I'm a cheap skate so I cleaned mine in an ultrasonic bath but I'd be shocked if a new one cost more than a couple of quid.

I had the same after the big freeze. The pipe had popped off in the passenger footwell. Managed to locate no problem and snapped back on. Then gave it a try and still nothing except water coming out from the under the rear near side arch. Eventually after about 3 hours I found the culprit by removing the panel in the boot on the passenger side and you can see the flexi water pipe. Snapped together and bingo all fine. May not be the same but they were the weak points that I found!

I've got the same problem with the soaking rear passenger footwell, but can't figure out how to remove the trim, can anyone help? Is it just a case of lifting it up or are there some hidden screws somewhere?
Any help would be appreciated or its of to the stealers for me...
