Hi just wondering if I could get an idea on value at the minute.
RS6 Avant
2004 54 reg
Silver
Black leather
57k
3 owners
FASH
Car was just serviced in Oct and had full DRC replaced by AUDI.
Just an idea as there doesn't seem to be many around this age.
Cheers
Mac

Hi Mac,
Having been trawling the classifieds for a while I thought I'd give you the low-down on my conclusions.
As far as I saw, rock-bottom seemed to be back in late November when Stepho's FASH Avus 52 plate on 40k went for £16,800. It was originally up at £18,800 which was the book price for that year but with 56k. I think he was despatate for another car so that explains why it was so cheap.
There was another car, a black one with FASH and warranty went for £17k having originally been up for £18k. His photos were a bit rubbish and the detail of his advert was scant - e.g. no mention of the AUC warranty!
Since then, prices have been firming up a touch. Very few C5s coming up at dealers unless they're RS6+s so the private market is the only way to go. There's a circa 40'er on (again avus) for £20,500 with FASH but again no warranty.
As your car is under 60k miles, I reckon you should be shooting for £18,500 - £19,000 private but more if its got a warranty. The good thing from your perspective is the 2year warranty on the DRC for the next owner

I think the 54platedness of the car has to make it more attractive.
Hope that helps,
Greg

tbh, I think you looking at around the £17k mark if your lucky to find a buyer.
but York Audi have gone mental and are listing a black saloon on 70k with a Milltek for £14,495. Obviously this includes a 1 yr Audi Warranty also !
So if your cash buyer im sure you could pick it up for £14.5k, add back the £900 you'd spend on the Milltek and your talking sub £14k - FROM AUDI
Now know it has some hideous wheels, but you get a few hundred for these on ebay and pick up a set of RS6's for a few hundred quid.
Hopefully this should be a one off - the less cars there are at dealers who are willing to take a loss the better

Yes I have seen it, however miltek or not it is an 02 saloon, which is way off a 54 avant.

I agree entirely - theres the Daytona Grey saloon on 30k miles, full warranty and has been sitting at £17k on PH for 3 months now.

Saloons are always cheaper than an estate! Except for a subaru impreza !

At the risk of being shot down in flames can I give my tenners worth. As someone who is trying to sell a 6 at the moment I think that even having this discussion on price is counter productive for all of us. By pointing out just how cheap the CHEAPEST 6 ers are going for that in itself drives the markets down further.
A lot of people use the site as a reference point and already today I have had an email telling me I am asking far too much for it, and that they would be happy to relieve me of my six for less than book price.
Even if you aren't selling at the moment, circumstances change rapidly especially at the minute and tomorrow it might be you.
On the plus side all of the discussion has made me think twice about getting rid of mine. So after all that ranting I probably need to say thanks.

^^ Exactly! There may be ONE neglected, tatty, crash repaired, high-miler saloon in need of brakes, tyres, suspension and with a dubious history selling for £12k, but that doesn't mean that a buyer should expect an enthusiast's cherished example to be priced similarly.
Don't talk the price down.
PS. Mine is not for sale, it's TOO good!

Fact is that prices are still falling, (and rapidly) but that is for all performance cars, there is nothing RS6 specific about that.
The true value of a car is what someone will pay for it and at the moment that is way lower than it is probably worth, if you are trading up then you are quids in, if not you are going to lose.
At some point (it seems reached by a number on this thread) the car becomes worth more to you than its actual value - that's when you don't bother selling.....

I certainly wouldn't give it away, but peoples circumstances are very different. sadieandjim, I have seen your "6" and it looks like a mint example. I think you have it up for correct money and don't listen to jokers offering you peanuts for it.

I drove that car last weekend. TBH, I thought it was a bit of a dog. The saleman was good enough to bring it down to Lincoln for me to drive!
That car had been originally registered to Audi and all all the toys, although brakes, tyres adn interior condition really let it down. Trust me, the wheels look even worse in the flesh!
I'm looking for a decent car at the moment and the Avant is my first choice. Lincoln Audi have a mint 03 plate with 37k on the clock at the moment. It's a one owner as well, but is in need of the cam belt changing apparently. Is 37k right for a cam belt? Apparently, the 5 year point is about right! Any help or suggestions appreciated!

Straight from the horses mouth...
I'm not saying this is correct, but Audi were kind enough to put it in writing. I'd definitely get the belt changed on a 5yr old car though.

Good letter! Anyone think that 57,000 is a strange figure; why not 60k?

Cheers for that Rupert, very informative.
I guess it should have been done on this car already!! I'll be having words with the salesman tomorrow!
Thanks again for getting back so quickly

Not sure if I will be putting it up for sale as yet, but if I do I would probably look at taking another car against it as a p/x + cash.
I hope I don't have to sell the beast but it will depend on how things go.
The market isnt great for selling and it gets someone into an RS and cash in my pocket with a nice motor
