Surprise Surprise, klank and bang from the back of my car.
Got her in the air to have a look.....4 leaking shocks again! Happy Days ;-(


Done last year under warranty..so they are doing it again under warranty.

Put a call into Customer Services...."These are were and tear items and there is no issues with the DRC systems on Audi's" was there final word

I guess I have just been unlucky with my 14 shocks fitted to date...or maybe I need to stop driving it about??

Let you know what words of wisdom arrive next time

Grizz has just replaced my failed DRC with coilovers........miles better!!! Will the warranty company not go for that?

Mines in at Hatfield again as well. This is the 5th time its been in to the workshop in 2 1/2 years of ownership and ONLY 7000 miles!!!!!!

Thats a total of 20 shocks, 10 Accumulators and too bloody much of my time.

I love the RS6 but Audi need to step up their game on the supension side of things as the B7 RS4 suffers the same problem as the 6 and im just waiting for some horror stories about the new RS6.

Any way thats my two pence worth

I use Hatfield too, we both had ours replaced at the same time last year
I have done 8000miles on mine

Watchdog really ought to be interested in these cases where shocks are needing replacement every few thousand miles.
Suspension is fundamental to car control, and this *IS* a safety issue.

Its not a wear and tear item and they know bloody well its not. Bastards.

Just rip it out and stick coilovers on. I had my DRC replaced with the "New fix" with the boot over the piston and recharging the valves- it lasted 2 months before going tits again. Wankers.

They have fitted the all new improved shocks already, not sure how long they have been leaking for though

Keep thinking about Coil overs but need some more money first

It is Audi Warranty

how long have you had the car, how many miles are on the clock, is it an inchcape audi warranty as mine was/is? Still talk to grizz- Audi do not have to do the work......

About a fortnight ago I spent 30 minutes on the phone to Audi Warranty trying to talk them into letting me take my car to Grizz. I failed. Essentially it didn't matter how convincing the arguments are WRT how it'll save them money etc.. since the company policy is rigid (unlike my suspension), and common sense doesn't apply. If there's anyone specific I ought to talk to I'd be keen to know.

not only watchdog but how about a car mag apart from writing about supercars all the time. surely with all these problems that rs6 owners are facing - something could be done?

A wear and tear suspension that wears out after only a few months?

I have sent 3 emails (on the Watchdog webpage) and 1 live 'on-air' text to Watchdog about this and have yet to hear anything. What with the multitude of car horror stories featured on there over the past couple of years, you'd think they would be interested..

They've had Focuses, Vectras, Clios and even Audi TT's with the dash binnacle problem and featured all of those, sometimes over 2 or 3 weeks until some kind of response/resolution has been reached.

I cannot believe that what with all the DRC issues and especially now the B7 RS4 has the same problem that Watchdog haven't featured this story. It must be as simple as not receiving enough complaints to persue the matter. So c'mon people, go to the Watchdog site and click on 'Got a Story'!! I'm certain they'd eventually respond if enough people submit their stories.
