Hi guys, just bought privately a 2003 RS6 Avant with just under 60,000 miles...some issues I've noticed so far...wondering if anyone can help before I get taken to the cleaners by Audi in London...
1) Sat Nav not picking up GPS…says “31 satellites available, 0 receivedâ€

RE: Just bought an RS6...some issues:
1. The antennas need to be checked although I can't remember how to get ot the diagnosis screen. Run a fault scan on the Radio/Navigation and see if that shows anything.
2. Please run a full fault scan using VAG-Com/VCDS or similar as it sounds like you have at least 1 parking sensor faulty
3. See 1.
4. Could be a thermostat or temp sender issue. What temp is the oil showing when you switch off?
5. Sounds like a bent (front) wheel, not uncommon. I'd get them all ballanced and ask if any show signs of being bent/flat spots.
6. See 5, and £80 is ok if not cheap. Might be better off getting a recommendation for a really good indy wheel place.

sound like your antenna connections need checking/repair. there is not much rrom behind the sat-nav so removing this and checking behind would be the place to start.
using vcds access block 5 under sat-nav (group 37 or 56) - this will give you the antenna status.
block 9 gives you gps status
• 0,1 = no GPS Information available;
• 2 = not possible to determine locaton (satelliteas are received);
• 3 = location can only be determined via latitude and longitude;
• 4 = possible to determine location via longitude/latitude/height;
• 255 = nav system antenna (r50) not connected
also block 37 gives the details of the last gps reception - might be useful if you need to go back to the previous owner.
with regards to the after-run fan - this is a normal occurance, but should not be a frequent on. it sound like you car is running hot - so you should diagnose for that. you can get actual engine temp readout using the hvac display (search on this forum for "cheat codes") - temps up to 100c are regular - but not a lot higher than that.

Hi TB
As Grant says vibration at 80 likely to be buckled wheels. i had this mine, it only happens from say 70 and then disappears at 90. It needed 2 new alloys.
also make sure whoever balances the wheels does a propert job. Even a well known 3 letter tyre place (no names) mucked up mine. PM me and I will give you a place in Rainham which is excellent for tyres and balancing.
