Anyone on here used the above warranty? Still have to look into it in more detail but had a quote for 12 months comprehensive policy at £419.00, and you can pay off in 10 monthly installments of £41.90. Sound like a good option :)

Read the small print .... no 4x4 or prestige cars covered.

It was an on-line quote I got and car details were given. Telephoned them this morning and they are sending a pack out, so I'll have a read through it.

Any other warranty companies out there anyone can recomend?

I too had misread it....

"Certain vehicles are classed as Prestige and will be subject to an additional premium.
Vehicles classed as Prestige are:
All 4x4 vehicles, Alfa Romeo, Audi (apart from all A2, A3 and all A4 4-cylinder models),..."

I can't believe Tesco can give you a "quote", which then turns out not to cover your car, by Make and by type! Sheesh, *I* could give out quotes like that.

It's not saying that prestige cars are not covered - just that they are subject to an additional premium.

It's confusing as on this page:
http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/fi ... y-info.jsp

they list "Prestige cars and cars excluded from Tesco Car Warranty Plan", the wording is confusing, it does not say that presige cars are excluded.

Is it possible to double-up on warranty? Say for example, one policy with Acme covers bits+ bobs, claim limit £2k no excess, another with Texsobury covers gearbox + engine with no claim limit but £200 excess ...

Is it possible to get the best of both worlds, or at least better than Audi warranty at a lesser price?

Full warranty cover taken out this morning at £419 for Finest Plan Cover, which does cover my car under prestige and performance. All mechanical and electrical parts covered plus wear and tear on mechanical parts, and MOT insurance. All this for £41.90 a month, and you can choose the garage as long as they are VAT registered.

Another year with the Beast then... :D .....

Seems to good to be true?

Reading through https://carwarrantyplan.tescofinance.co ... ummary.pdf I see it says:

"Vehicles specifically excluded from Tesco Car Warranty Plan are:
All vehicles over 3500cc."

You say they still covered you though??

Hi Stepho,

I was looking at this also and it does seem a very good deal. I did speak to them and told them what car I had and the chap still told me that it would be covered - however as tb says it does state no 4x4 Audi and vehicles over 3500cc. I think you need to call them and get comfirmation in writing as I am sure they will not cover you and you should get your money back now as I am sure when you need to claim it will be void. I agree though it is stupid how they can let you buy this, as when you put your reg in it brings it up as 4200cc?????? Call now to avoid disappointment in the future.

Let us know how you get on.

regards,
Lig.

Hi Lig,
They have indeed covered my car. All documentation came through yesterday with the Vehicle make/model/ and engine size printed on the acceptance form. I did contact them last week by telephone and was assured this quotation was indeed correct. I have a written contract with Tesco now with cover for the next 12 months with all major mechanical and electrical components covered and MOT insurance included. Also the claim limit is to the value of the vehicle and you can specify where you want the work carried out as long as it is a VAT registered company.

Go get it, you know it makes sence... :D

try these guys; Mazzer use them for their extended warranties. We've had no problems with any claims either.

Right, I've just taken out the warranty with Tesco on-line for £419, haven't spoken to them but I will next week and I'll let you all know if any problems with it...what a bargain if this works I reckon (my car is sitting just under 60,000 miles so just in time!)
