Hi All,

My suspension is still the OEM setup but I would like to know how satisfied those who have made the change to coilovers are.

It doesn't matter what system you have chosen I just want to gauge if it is worth replacing a DRC system that still appears to be working.

I've fitted over 20 sets on rs6's in the past 6 months , TBH I don't think i've ever been in a car with a fully working drc system !!! g

I voted for huge improvement, but tbh, anything would have been a huge improvement, such was the atrociousness of mine!

I guess this is kinda the point though, can anyone really compare the coilovers to a fully, good-working DRC because as Grizz says, has yet to see a 100% operational DRC system.

In all honesty though, I'm not that bothered about a fair comparison; all I know is that my H&R's feel awesome, make the car handle better and most importantly for me at least, have much better absorbsion than the OEM's. I can go over bumps, rutts, ridges, temporary repairs, raised tar lines, even cat's eyes and they just absorb nicely. Before, I used to grimace before, during and after ANY kind of imperfection on the road because it was just soooo damn hard, but now I just feel confident that whatever the imperfection, it'll be filtered enough to still feel it, but not be harsh and intrusive. It is firmish and sharp, but not solid and harsh.

I have decided to bite the bullet and get the DRC swapped out. Off to unit 20 in August

the ride on my car before the H+R's were fitted, was pretty harsh, as said above, but when the DRC failed it was atrocious. now i can go over bumps, potholes etc and not wince. COILOVERS ARN'T a bad thing, keep the car at the normal ride height aswell if you don't like lowered cars. it definitely get's a vote from me.

Definitely agree. In fact alot of the reviews for this car said that the ride was possibly the worst of any road car even when it was NEW! Coilovers really do seem to kill so many birds with one stone, namely the handling, the comfort, the feel, the height (however you want it), the list goes on. One wonders just how life went on before coilovers!

"the comfort" well, unless you have your shocks set to hardest! But at least you have the option.

Just checked back on this post and I've noticed that one person has selected that they are not happy with the coilovers. If you don't mind me asking, who was this and what is it that you are unhappy with?

.... and don't forget the adjustability of kits like KW and Bilstein. Being able to easily set things stiff or more comfy at will is worth its weight in gold in my book. Bilstein adjuster are not easy at the back, but they can be done without removing a wheel, albeit with a bit of rolling around on the floor.

My DRC was originally good before the leaks appeared and the PSS9's are still an improvement. The only area where comment has been made by onlookers is in the rear-squat off the mark when giving it some beans. Seems that DRC does reduce squat and dive quite effectively. Still not enough of a virtue to convince me to pursue DRC ad infinitum though....

I've had my bilsteins fitted for 21 months and 20k now with no problems and I definately wouldn't go back to DRC, but I'd like some of the hotchkis arb's to cut back the roll and sharpen things up a bit further. When I first contacted hotchkis about 18 months ago there were no uk importers, but now some of you seem to have them. Who from, how much, and are they good?

Grizz fitted mine at the weekend, well worth every penny.

Got my ARBs from MRC, and they really help with the body roll and sharpen up the cornering IMHO.
