Hi all, does anyone know if there are any other manufacturers of exhausts for RS6s other than Milltek and MTM? I appreciate that these two companies probably produce the best, but i was wondering if there are any alternatives????

Exhaust Manufacturer

I have booked my car in as a Donor vehicle for a bespoke design at a North West Custom Exhaust Manufacturer. They have said they'll need the car for 2 days and have offered a further proposal of having the engine a gearbox chipped whislt its in with them. The Chip is £495 and they have said if Audi plug into the ecu the chip will automatically wipe to prevent any warranty probelms, they the said if the car is returned they will rechip the car

I'm not sure if i'm interested in a chip because I know nothing about them but they said the chip is a 'Collins' one ! Dont know if thats Kim or Sue

As for the exhaust they are discussing whether I want catback, full system, sports cats, resonated or non resonated etc etc

I will of course be trying to negotiate a discount for all RS246 members and if theres enough interest generated perhaps a group buy may qualify further discount

I too would love a Milltek but at the end of the day they simply manufacture stainless steel exhausts. I have also spoken to one of there (Millteks) franchised dealers who sell other manuactures systems and they say from a personl perspective they would buy the cheapest system offered and stated that Milltek built a reputation because they were one of the first to manufacture sysems for Audi RS's and one owner tells or shows another and they buy one etc etc. I have to agree with this as someone who has owned quite a lot of sports cars and had systems from various manufacturers paying daft prices for a pretty uniform system. Put simply its a competative market and Milltek have it covered at the moment

Once my car has been in (18-19th June) for fitment I will post a review

If anyones interested in a system whether complete or catback or in the Collins chip post a reply on here or by PM and i'll try to squeeze some deals for members

incidentally, I have no connection to the Manufacturer i'm a Social Worker with the NSPCC and i'm just trying to get value for money on a modest salary. I can't justify £2822.94 which Milltek want for a catback with sports cats or £2540 on ebay(type rs6 exhaust in ebay and search) those prices are NOT FITTED either thats supply only

Before you let someone into your ECU's try to contact the "Collins" they are talking about. If it is Kim Collins from QST , give him a call and ask all about the company who is doing the exhaust,
the reason I say this is there are a few people out there who claim to work with all sorts of reputable tuners( I am not saying that this is the case here) and in fact have no connection to them at all.
As this is your pride and joy a couple of calls are worth the piece of mind. Just My 2 pennies worth.

Do your research first... If it's Collins as in Mongoose Collins over in Congleton, I'd steer clear. I wouldn't let them (or anything they deal with) near one of my cars again.

They made a right mess of one of my cars and almost blew it up. It was up on the ramps and all fine before Collins' and then several expensive bills to be paid within a week of them touching it. Needless to say, Collins didn't want to know about my problems. They fobbed me off and so I took the car elsewhere.

Just my two penneth, but I would avoid at all costs.

Exhausts yes .....chips no!

Thanks for all the input guys.

As I said I'm not overly keen on going for the proposal of a chip with th company who offered it

I'm happy to let them have the car for the 2 days as a donor vehicle because once they've made the exhaust they're going to give me some discount. They say they are then going to manufacture one and put it onto another car and rolling road it to see if theres any power increase etc

I'm purely in this for the exhaust but i'm sure theyre just trying to get a bit more business off me for a chip

As far as i'm concerned any such performance work will be done by Grizz.

I assume that the Collins mentioned will indeed be the Congleton base outfit who produced a mongoose system but this IS NOT where my car is going as the donor

I too wouldn't give SUE collins a Dinky car to work on

Hi Matty, what car was the exhaust for? Was it cat back or hi-performance cats as well? What was the price like as the website looks very good when compared to Millteks? Any pictures?
