Have you checked your brakes? Fluid and pads?

It can also happen due to low battery (according to a dealer).

I was told by Audi that the red brakes symbol and tripple warning on selecting drive means that the brakes haven't finished initialising (no error codes stored). Audi changed a start-up? relay which helped but it does happen on occasions when the battery is run down a bit (short runs, lights left on etc).

I get that on the odd occasion, usually if I am in a rush to get going. I think not having your foot on the brake pedal for long enough before hitting D and moving triggers it.

I seem to be getting this more often now. It happens if I pull away too soon after engine start but also if I give it some beans now. The fluid level looks ok. Any other suggestions?

this happened to mine not long after having new front pads fitted, it happened to be the brake light switch.
