The dealership confirmed today ive at least one valve gone on the DRC and probably 2 but all the shocks are fine. They quoted £1800 ish to replace both valves but the technician admited the system was not great and didnt disagree when I mentioned coilovers as hed siad if any of the shocks whent id have to replace the valve again.

Given the comments on the potential issue re the PSS9 ive decided to go for the KW V3 the best price ive had has been £995 plus vat to supply from Demon Tweeks anybody know of a better deal - ive tried a couple of people for fitting inc this forum but no one has come back to me - im in Preston.

Does anyone know whether I need any additional parts eg top mounts like the bilsteins fitting guide or do the KW V3 come with everything you need?

Any fitting advice would be gratefully accepted

Make sure they are in stock first. They'll take your money and make you wait - not DT specifically, but the guys who sell these. Also try SportsTech for the settings

If I was you I'd get a set of top mounts, to go with the new KW's just for piece of mind

From what I remember they were not expensive. Have a look at the sticky

I got new top mounts when I had the KW fitted, seemed silly not to

My top mounts were shot also.

Is it just me, or doesn't it seem a little rude to buy the KW from one place and then get the settings from SportsTech. Personally, I'd put my hand in my pocket and get it sourced and fitted by one place. Fitting this kit is not something I'd recommend doing on your driveway.

I bought mine from Sportstech and the settings for the car were in the documentation. I did arrange to have SportsTech tune them for me but havn't got around to it.

I'm a dreaded car dealer for a living and have just had our car fitted with the KW system by Sports Tech. I really believe its not worth messing about with, Sports Tech seems to be spot on with the fitting & set up side of it, they've got the experience and personally thats why I felt confident with giving them the job rather than my normal garage that preps my cars. I don't really see your going to save yourself that much.

Taffy - I agree; they seem first rate in their understanding. The standard settings were fine for me.

Ok, just got here from the welcome area and delighted to have found this forum. (Not so delighted about my suspension however!)

After only about 5 weeks of ownership, I too seem to have Dodgily Reacting Components in my Diabolical Ride Control.

Bought the car from Fontains Audi and picked it up on the 1st March. Car felt relatively ok to begin with, but from the outset noticed a weird vibration through the accelerator - I just thought this was some kind of calibration of some kind, since it only did it the very first moment you set off on a journey. At the same time, the suspension felt very 'clunky' and I could feel and hear knocking sounds under the car. I am now getting a big orange warning symbol on the DIS with a big triangle and the letters FL FR RL RR either side of it. As for the handling now, well it honestly feels petrifying - kinda like what you'd imagine a cut and shut to feel like. Cornering is atrocious and any mid corner ruts unsettle the car monumentally.

Thing is, where do I go from here? Obviously, the car has a warranty, but is it really worth going back to get this sorted out? Would they really stump up the necessary funds and expertise in order to rectify this problem? One would hope so after less than 6 weeks, but should I just get it over and done with now and bite the bullet and have the KW v3 kit fitted?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

I was gonna ask if the KWv3 was adjustable for everyday comfort as well as improved handling and feel but with a bit of Googling found the following post on another forum (scroll down to the guy with the A3 at the motor show) and I must say this is an awesome post that really tells you all you need to know regarding these shocks!! I went from knowing virtually nothing about either coilovers or the V3's themselves to knowing just about all you need to know, in one post!!:

Does anyone have a copy of the SportsTech settings for the KWs? I'd give them a call and ask but feel it's a bit rude when they didn't supply or fit!

When you get the kit new from kw it has the settings with the paper work. i've got a set on order that i should have this week. grizz
