Secondary air pump has failed for the third time (replaced under warranty in 2005 & 2007), sounds like there is a handful of loose bolts in it every 3rd or 4th time car starts, switch off and restart and it goes away. It's getting replaced under parts warranty, but anyone come across this before and got any ideas on underlying cause?
.... and the DRC's gone again!!
Secondary Air Pump
I had and have the same problem. The secondary air pump was replaced 6 months ago and they have just failed again ... a handful of loose bolts is a pretty accurate description of the noise they make for the first couple of minutes on start-up.
Cars going into Audi on Monday to have them replaced again under parts warranty.
I've no idea why they've failed again or the first time - I'll ask Audi what they think when I collect the car from them.
Rich.
