Hi ive just taken my RS6 in for an inspection and there are quite a few jobs that need doing, DRC, Gear box input shaft leaking, Dodgey door catch, Plus centre consle button inoperative. They are going to send the claim off to the warranty company.....What should i expect? any ideas.. :?:

depends on the warranty. if it is covered, (and if the warranty is worth anything, it should be), you'll be fine.

Going to guess you'll have to pay for the door catch and centre concsle button (what ever that is?).
The rest should be done on warranty.

All IMO of course :D

When you say the button is broke, do you realise you have to press where it says menu in front of the turny knob for it to work? I didn't when i first played with it. I was pressing the turny knob bit thinking mine was broken.

I also pressed the knob instead of the button until someone on here very kindly set me right.

I am guessing when you take your car in for service work from the problems you think you've found Audi will not point out any problems they find as Audi are covering the cost, so i may pull a fast one as when my warranty has about two months left on it i will pretend im interested in renewing it and this will mean the car has to under go a 1700 point check first and anything there not telling me now about the car im sure they will have to point out and hey presto get it done on the warranty and never renew it when all the works been done....ha! it sounds simple enough?? but very crafty..... Any views on this?

Well I wonder what attitude the dealers have towards warranty work. Will they try and get out of it? Or since it's extra work for them which they'll get paid by Audi to do, do they welcome it and fight your corner for you?

The Audi warrantee is through mondial I think. They have no interest hiding work from you as the warrantee company pays for the parts and labour - not the dealer. My dealer pointed out several things and fixed them with no questions asked. Even when under the original warrantee the dealer fixed things that I was expecting to pay for (like the plastic bottom bit on the wing mirror - chipped by a stone).
